To the Sheriff of County of Tolland or his Deputy or either of the Constables of the Town of Coventry within Sd County Greeting      Whereas Ebenezer Peck of Coventry in the county of Tolland on the 19th day of September 1817 before Joseph Talcott Esqr Justice of that place for the Peace for the County of Tolland aforesd Served judgment against William Willson of Coventry in Sd Tolland County for the sum of 24 Dollars 06 cents damages & for the sum of 2 Dollars 52 cents costs of writ as apppears of Record whereof execution remains to be done These are therefore by authority of this State of Connecticut to command you that of the money goods Chattels & Lands of the Sd Willson within your precinct you cause to be levied and the same being disposed of as the law directs paid & satisfied unto the sd Peck aforesaid and being 26 Dollars 58 cents in the whole with 17 cents more for this writ together with your own fees and for the want of such money goods Chattels or Land, of the sd Willson to he by him show means to you or found within your precincts to the acceptance of the said Peck for the satisfying the aforesaid sums you are hereby commanded to take the body of the said Willson and him commit unto the keeper of the gaol in Tolland in the County of Tolland aforesaid within the sd Prison who is likewise hereby commanded to receive the sd Willson and him safely keep untill he pay unto the said Peck the full sums above mentioned and be by him received and also to satisfy your fee hereof fail not and make due return of this writ with your doings thereon recorded by law within sixty days next coming Dated at Coventry this 19th day ye Sepr AD 1817.

By virtue of this Execution I repaired to the usual place of abode of the within named debtor and there made demand of the sum due in this Exn with all necessary charges & the said debtor neglecting to make payment by direction of the Creditor I took by virtue of this Exn one case of drawers one desk one brass kettle one skillet one table one chair five milk pans one coverlet one bedquilt one towel two table cloths the property of the debtor and by having no more goods or chattels to be found in my precinct I set upon the sign post in the society where sd goods were taken on account of these writt with declaration That they would be sold at sd sign post at public _____ at the end of twenty days & at the end of twenty days the sd debtor having failed to pay the debt & cost sd caused a drum to be beaten at sd sign post and sold sd goods at an __tery to the highest bidder for the sum of $14 from which deducting the cost & my fees thus far amounting to the sum of $2.50 leaves the sum of$18.50 which I applied towards satisfying this Exn and paid the same over to the creditor and there remaining due on this Execution $15.25 by virtue thereof and by direction of the creditor therein named I levied this Exn on one certain piece of land lying & being situate in Sd Coventry containing one hundred and forty rods bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a heap of stones at the northwest corner of land belonging to the second school society in sd Coventry thence north & East 13_ to Wm. Willsons land thence North 5o East 9 rods 10 links to Jacob Willsons land thence South 87o W 17 rods to Royal Wales land thence South 4o east 9r to the first mentioned bound The proper estate of the sd debtor in fee and the sd Creditor chose Joseph Kingsbury as indifferent freeholder of the same Town and the aforesaid debtor neglecting to choose an appraiser I applied to Joseph Talcott Esqr the next Justice of the peace who by said _______ Judge ________ the parties in Civil Cases which Sd Justice appointed Elezer Hatch & Jubal Case both Indifferent freeholders of the same Town appraisers of the estate aforesaid levied upon by virtue of this Exn and Joseph Talcott Esqr Justice of the Peace within & for the County of Tolland then & there administered the oath by _________ for appraisers of land _______ Exn and the sd appraisers then & there on visit to sd described premises on which this Exn had been levied did upon their oaths appraise the same premises at the sum of $20 as the then present & just value thereof to the creditor in this Exn and the sum remaining unpaid in sd Exn being $15.25 and the lawful charges of executing the same Exn being $4.75 both which last mentioned sums amount to the sum of $20 Can this day sent of the sd Ebenezer Peck the creditor in this Exn the above described premises & ______ proper bounds to the same in full satisfaction of this Exn & any fees and all charges thereon and on the same day I caused this Exn in my endorsement of above thereon to be entered on the records of land in the Sd Town of Coventry Nov 14th 1817 we the subscribers indifferent freeholders by the Creditor named in the Exn by Joseph Talcott Esqr Justice of the peace to appraise a certain piece of land lying in the North Society in Sd Town whereon this Exn was levied by Joseph Talcott Constable do appraise sd described land to $20. -------

These may certify that on the said 14th day of Novr 1817 at sd Coventry I Joseph Talcott Justice of the & for Tolland County on application of Joseph Talcott Jr. Constable administered the oath provided by Law to Jubal Case Joseph Kingsbury & Eliezer Hatch as appraisers of the Land whereon this Exn hath been levied.
