Know All Men by these presents that I jno Smith of Charlestowne in the County of midd in New England have for diverze causes & considerations moving me thereunto especially for & in consideration of ye sum of two 100 pounds in L coor, wherof then a four pounds at or Before ye Sealing & ye rest for ______ of ye Jno Wilson senr wherof & wherwith I do acknowledge my selfe fully satisfyed & contented & _____ of & or only apt therof doo exonorate acquitt & authorize ye abovesd Jno Wilson senr & his heirs exocutors admin & assigns for ever and I do by these presents give grant bargain or sell twelve and a half of ye land more or less and lying & being within the bounds of ye Town of Charlestowne and lyeth in the second Division of land that was left layd out and is bounded on ye east with the land of michol Smith & is bounded on ye west with ye land of Lord, James & on ye north with ye land of abovesd Wilson & on ye South end with two trees marked with ye Letters EM & MS and ye other marked with EM & GT to have it & to hold ye aforesd twelve acres of upland be it more or less & a halfe as it is butted & bounded as abovesd which twelve acres & a halfe of upland is now to be ye own use & behoofe of ye aforsd Jno Wilson senr & to his heirs exocutors admin & assigns for ever And furthermore I ye sd Jno Smith Do by these presents give grant bargain sell endorse & confirme unto ye abovesd Jno Wilson senr all the Right Title Claims _______ and Demand if ever I the sd Jno Smith have or ever had in any of ye aforsd _______ quits Jno Wilson senr & to his heirs; Exoutors, Admin & assigns for ever. And furthermore I ye sd Jno Smith do by these presents by my selfe my heirs, executors, admin, & assigns to defend & do _______ ye aforsd Jno Wilson senr & his heirs exocutors admin & assigns from all trouble, Such at Law, motortatious(?) or Incumbrances any way may arise from me Jno Smith or from my heirs, exocutors admin or assigns or from and other person or persons laying any Claime or title therunto from by or under me Jno Smith And furthermore I doo hereby bind myself my heirs exocutors & assigns to secure ye sd Jno Wilson senr & his heirs exocutors & assigns from all Rights or title or Claime or Demand by my wife, by order of her theron can demand, and _ you shall quietly & peacably injoy ye same for ever In witnes wherof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seal this ____ _________ 1682
