ZAP!! NEAT STUFF!! Ooooo - pretty!

Hey, you've probably already figured out that I'm an eclectic kinda guy.  My tastes vary - I like a lot of things.  My hobbies include theater, painting, photography, travel, lapidary, and writing just to name a few.   I'll do anything twice that didn't hurt the first time, such as skydiving, scuba diving, bungee jumping, hiking, climbing, skiing, and just about anything thrilling.  Along those lines, here are links to various internet sites I like.  I mixed in some pictures of the folks I call "friend" (much different from an "acquaintance").  So, take a gander at some pretty neat stuff and neat people.

Say hi to a real cutie, Ashlynn, daughter of some very dear friends of mine, Jess and Jeff.

The single most important airplane ever built - The B-17Do you like airplanes?  Then you should go the the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio.  Just about anything and everything that flies or has ever flown is there.  http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum

Saturn V liftoffIn case you've ever wondered if there was a comprehensive encyclopedia about space hardware, there is one and lucky you, it's online.  Mark Wade's Encyclopedia Astronautica has the most comprehensive history/info/library about anything and everything space related you could possibly want to know.  Check it out at:

One last space related thing before we move on to other stuff.  I've been a member of The Planetary Society for 15 years now.   TPS is a fantastic advocate for just about everything involving space exploration.   If you think like I do - that humanity needs to expand off of this rock as quickly as we possibly can, then consider joining and adding your voice to the ever growing crowd.   http://www.planetary.org/

Okay, on to other areas....

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you one of the most talented (and nicest) couples you will ever meet - Preston and Dell, affectionately known as "Prestidigitator and Dellightful" the singing Arnolds!  And aren't Mary and Tristan cute too?  :)

The Singing Arnolds!     WEEEEE! I'm SUPERGIRL!

Smithsonian rhodocrosite cyrstals specimenLet's talk hobbies!  For those of you out there like me who happen to like minerals, rocks, and gems (and what self-respecting archeologist wouldn't?).   I have a fairly large collection of specimens and lapidary items from all over the world, mostly stuff collected by me.  I like to combine them with other interests of mine, namely photography (samples of which are all over thisMarbles on a mineral squares chess board web-site) and marbles.   "Marbles?!?" I hear you think.  Yes - marbles!  I like to put together interesting displays with marbles and stuff, then take pictures of them.  An artist can't paint all the time!  There are several great sites for marbles, by the way.  My favorite is:   http://www.emarbles.com/

And speaking of art....

The most amazing artist I've ever seen is Thomas Cole.  His two series titled "The Voyage of Life" and "The Course of the Empire" are simply breathtaking to view.  If you ever get the opportunity to go to the National Art Museum in Washington D.C., plan for at least an extra hour in the room with Thomas Cole's works.  Until then, check out some on-line views : http://www.yale.edu/amstud/cole/

Look! A wild koo-koo birdie!

Like I said, I used to live in the greatest place on Earth, Australia.  Some of the most wonderful people in the world live there, Schultzy, Corrina, Jess, and Jenn, Mumm and Dad G just to name a few.  Here's Jess and Big Sis Rebecca showing why Aussies are the funest folks around....

Do you ever need to convert liters to gallons, pounds to kilos, inches to meters, and stuff like that?  I do, but I can never remember the conversion figures.  Fear not!  There are some great sites with said info and even on-line conversions for you.  Check out:

Last but not least is Blossom (a.k.a Crystal) and Shel.  I actually got to be a bridesmaid for Crystal at her wedding to the great Rich-meister (always a bridesmaid, never a bride...).  For some funny reason though, she wouldn't let me wear a blue dress like the rest of them.  Made me look kind of different from the rest of the gals....

Whip me! Whip me GOOD!   For all those special mousekateers out there...

Wait!  Did I say "Last?"  Au contraire!  Who could possibly forget TEXAS KEV!  Watch out Ladies, this guy is a charmer, and not just because he's my best friend and it rubbed off of me.  Time passes quickly (wow!) and one stint as best man deserves another....

A long time ago...  ...in a wasteline far, far away.

Swirl in carved walnut bowlHere - check out another one of my marble photos while I tell you about the best theater group I've ever had the privilege to be in.   I've performed in something like 30 theater shows on three continents around the world since I caught the bug over 15 years ago, and the best groups I've ever been in are the Kalidescope Theater and Martin Theater, both in Panama City, Florida.  The folks there simply are the best, especially Charlie Wilson, the heart and soul of KT, Marty Hendrickson, director/actor extraordinaire, and Liz Boswell, the sweetest lady to ever kick me in the backside.  If you ever go to Panama City be sure to stop in at the KT and the Martin to see what ever is on.  It's guaranteed to be great!

Okay, I've been talking long enough.  If you'd like to zap me a few electrons about artwork, space or dot type, or something about photography (digital and regular), marbles, lapidary, theater, writing, or anything eclectic in general, here's my address: ramerj@worldnet.att.net
