ZAP!! Cool Stuff... Ooooo - pretty!

Hey, you've found my Easter Egg!  Okay, it wasn't hidden very well, but so what... now you're here, have some fun.  I'm an eclectic kinda guy.  My tastes vary - I like a lot of things.  My hobbies include theater, painting, photography, travel, lapidary, and writing just to name a few.   I'll do anything twice that didn't hurt the first time, such as skydiving, scuba diving, bungee jumping, hiking, climbing, skiing, and just about anything thrilling.  Along those lines, here are links to various internet sites I like.  So, toodle around and take a gander at some pretty neat stuff.

I'm a Lifetime Member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists.

Earth Force!

In addition to my children and astronomical paintings, I also write books.  My first novel is titled "Galactic Guardians: Earth Force".  It's a novel about a twin brother and sister who witness an alien space ship crashing to Earth and have to use their intellect and lessons from real science to solve the 5,000 year-old mystery of how and why it crashed.   Full of thrills and excitement, "Earth Force" entertains and educates young readers all while inspiring them to become the astronauts, engineers, and acheologists of tomorrow.  Book 1 available at Amazon.com!  Book 2 "Galactic Guardians: Red Moon" coming soon!

Smithsonian rhodocrosite cyrstals specimenLet's talk hobbies!  For those of you out there like me who happen to like minerals, rocks, and gems, I have a fairly large collection of specimens and lapidary items from all over the world, mostly stuff collected by me.  I like to combine them with other interests of mine, namely photography and marbles.   "Marbles?!?" I hear you think.  Yes - marbles!  In case you have not visited the Photography section of this website, I like to put together interesting displays with marbles and stuff, then take pictures of them.  An artist can't paint all the time!

And speaking of art....

The most amazing artist I've ever seen is Thomas Cole.  His two series titled "The Voyage of Life" and "The Course of the Empire" are simply breathtaking to view.  If you ever get the opportunity to go to the National Art Museum in Washington D.C., plan for at least an extra hour in the room with Thomas Cole's works.  Until then, check out some on-line views : http://www.yale.edu/amstud/cole/

I love to travel, so much so that I stopped counting counties I've been to when I topped 50.  And as previously mentioned, I also love to write, so what could be more natural than writing about where I've been to?   Click below to enjoy some of my adventures...
