(Archive information on our "Storybook
Tales" performances from November 2003)
You won't want to miss Raleigh Dance Theatre's
2003 Fall performance -- "Story Book Tales". This is a program that is especially designed
for the enjoyment of young children. On the
program is: "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse", based on the book by Kevin Henkes, which
was performed by RDT last Fall, as was the
next ballet also on the 2003 program: "String Theory", a collaboration of new dance and music
by choreographer Tyler Walters and musician
John Hanks. The ever-popular "Sleeping Beauty, Prologue", set to the familiar score by Tchaikovsky
is a new addition to our Fall program. Rounding
out this year's production of "Storybook Tales" is a world premiere ballet by Chapel Hill's
M'Liss Dorrance, which is inspired by the
relationships found in the classic novel
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
The performances are November 8, 2003, at
11:00am and 3:00pm, and November 9, 2002,
at 3:00pm. All performances are in Jones
Auditorium, Meredith College, Raleigh. Tickets
are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Group
rates are available. Please call 919-834-1058
for tickets (VISA/MC accepted) or for additional
information.
