The Chicago of Europe?  Those who only know Berlin from school histories citing names of politicians and the start and end of wars may be surprised to learn that it is a railway center - an important one and one with a unique history.  This site is a spin-off from my well-received site, Berlin 1969.  Because that site is limited to a particular period, material in English from before and after that era has been piling up.  As time permits, I plan on moving some rail material from my older site, as well as adding new material to this site.  While construction gets underway on this site, I invite you to visit Berlin 1969 .
