Hi! I'm co-author of Guide to Owning a Ragdoll Cat, which is in its second printing and has an updated cover (although the text has not changed)! This Ragdoll book was conceived when I realized there was no book available on this breed and discussed my idea for writing an owner's manual with my Ragdolls' breeder. I have owned, loved and cared for cats and kittens all of my life (both random-bred moggies and pedigreed, rescued from non-profit associations and purchased from breeders). This, coupled with the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed raising my three Ragdolls, showing my Ragdolls, studying breeding and feline health, care and protection--and write for a living at my "day job"--made it natural for me to sit down and spend my weekends for six months writing this book and taking photographs for it! Of course, I consulted with my Ragdolls' breeder about technical things such as colors, patterns and vaccinations specific to Ragdolls as I wrote the book. He is fond of reminding me that it was he who rewrote the first paragraph of the "Introduction," and I thank him for that great summary paragraph and the other assistance he gave, including the extra photos which he submitted to our editor! Although he did not write the book or ghost write the book, I was pleased to give him the honor of being listed before me as a co-author to thank him for participating in my vision. At the time we discussed the issue, I told him that I couldn't have done it without him! I am very pleased that this book has helped introduce so many people around the world to these wonderful cats and kittens!
