History
The Pan American Golf Association has been in existence for over fifty years promoting golf for men, women and juniors. . P.A.G.A is established in eight states with a total membership in excess of 3500.
P.A.G.A. traces it's history back to 1937, when a group of friends in San Antonio, Texas gathered and called themselves the "Fore Golfers" (in reference to the shout of "FORE" on the golf course) and could be found on Sunday afternoons enjoying a round of golf and companionship. The "Fore Golfers" continued to gather and grow in strength until 1941, when their progress was halted by World war II. After the war the "Fore Golfers" regrouped and reorganized to become the Pan American Golf Association. Cities involved at this time were Houston, Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
The Missouri City Chapter is a "spin-off" from the Houston Chapter. The membership of the Houston Chapter became so large that tournament bookings became difficult...Hence the formation of the Missouri City Chapter in 1985.
