MOUNT COOK FROM THE HOOKER TRAIL

Across the bridge and further up the valley the view of Mount Cook was beautiful. We're headed to the saddle ahead then down toward Iceberg Lake. Karen looks on, left, while Martha and Jeff take a closer look at the river.

The terrain is rocky, ample evidence of the glacial forces that formed the Southern Island. Just how rocky we'd really learn as we moved down island to the Fiordlands and the Milford Track
