Barmouth News - 10th May, 2009

Where future events and specific information are mentioned, these are highlighted for easy reference.

ORIELTON GARDENS

The Annual General Meeting of Orielton Gardens Association took place on Friday 1st May at the Dragon Theatre. After the Easter holiday four members managed to remove a considerable amount of gorse, bracken and bramble from the along the embankment near the main pathway, after the Parks Department had sprayed to deter growth. Benches have now been provided at view points along the re-opened pathways, revealing stunning views of the Quay and Harbour. The Parks Department along with the Association are working to restore the gardens by clearance of the overgrowth and planned pruning of existing trees and shrubs, with benches being provided to sit and enjoy the views, watch and listen to the many birds and wildlife that reside in the park. The next date for clearance work will be on Saturday 30th May, when any willing volunteers will be welcome. Bring along your strong gloves.
