Community focus

If you want to have a say in what goes into the Dolgellau and Barmouth area plan that is being developed by Cyngor Gwynedd you need to go to the meeting that is to be held on Thursday19th February at 6pm in the Dragon Theatre. This an opportunity to highlight issues and concerns that can be addressed as part of a wider strategy. A recent focus meeting for the business community gave the opportunity for that group to talk about things that affected their ability to survive and thrive. Now it is the turn of the wider community, don’t miss out.

Picture this

The Hugh’s views session on Monday 23rd will as usual raise money to support the theatre by acting as a Coffee Morning where the proceeds of the tea and coffee sales go to help theatre funds Beginning at 10am there will be a break at 11am and will end at noon. Entry is free and a warm welcome is assured.

Passing

Sadly the passing of Pat Hughes of Talybont is recorded following a long illness. Born in Barmouth, her parents were the late William and Gwen Hughes She had been a supporter of events at the Dragon Theatre along with her friend Pam for over forty years, she will be greatly missed by the many friends she has made during life. Her funeral took place at Bangor crematorium with donations in lieu of flowers being given to the Air Ambulance Fund.

Credit Union

With the lower interest rates now prevailing the Y Llechen Credit Union, that operates from the Communities First office in Barmouth on Thursdays, between 11am and 1pm, offers good savings opportunities as well as excellent loan rates to members. Credit Unions are owned and run by members and increasingly offer services comparable with those of banks but at much cheaper rates. The regulation of Credit Unions is to the same stringent standard as is applied to banks, your money is completely safe. Volunteers are available to answer your questions each week. You can pick up information leaflets at any time.
