Originally from Canada she met Barmouth boy Wally when nursing him after a serious accident. She came to Barmouth where the couple had two children Robert and Elizabeth. Through her work she must have met most people in town at one time or another and always manages a smile to ease the anxieties of nervous and concerned patients. She will be missed genuinely by doctors, staff and patients, all of whom wish her a long and happy retirement.

Gone in an instant

On Wednesday the new factory shop in the high street was crowded with people, in the crush a visitor lost her Canon Ixus camera. It is possible that it fell into someone else’s open bag providing an unexpected bonus for the surprised shopper. On the memory card are much-valued pictures of a recent trip to Paris to celebrate a wedding anniversary, along with family shots. If anyone has found the camera or perhaps more importantly a memory card could they drop it through the letterbox of Communities First in Station Road or at the police station. The owners are desperate to get the pictures back as they have great sentimental value and cannot be replaced.
