Candle Stand Garden

Suzanne Barnett, a fellow club member, originated the idea to make a garden on a six inch square candle stand. She taught this as a workshop.

I added the fountain element to the basic walls. I made the wisteria from heavy cotton thread painted brown. The leaves and flowers are added by dipping and sprinkling on landscaping materials. The walls are textured by adding sand in the paint before painting. The flagstone is made from cardboard (a cerealbox actually) then painted.

Purchased items are bench, angel and her pedestal, urn, birds and the backing for the lionhead.

Terrace Garden

For this garden I used purchased wallpaper that looks like a handpainted cityscape. To give it more realism, I added dimension to the brick walls and the railing. I also added the planter box. The brick is made with a dimensional plastic. The railing was made with toothpicks and are just glued on top of the design that was in the wallpaper. The table and lounge chair were purchased and then I made cushions. The iced tea was also purchased.

This garden is landscaped with 144 tulips and two dogwood trees. The tulips are paper and I have kits available. If interested click here: Tulips. The dogwood trees are made from a Nadenia bush berry stem. The flowers and leaves are glued then glued to the stems.
