MoonShines

This scene was inspired by my friends on the internet. I have seen these neat paper machie pumpkins at Walmart, but couldn't decide what I wanted to do in it that would be for Fall and not just Halloween. Someone suggested a field of pumpkins and the light bulb went on and I had to have one.

I'm not sure why, but one thing I think of about Fall is that it gets dark early and so I wanted to make it appear to be nighttime. This lead to the idea of having the moon in my scene. Well, I think Fall and I think Harvest Moon so I began to experiment with ways to make a Harvest Moon. First I obtained a pic of the moon from an internet site. (The best places to capture printies.) Then I worked with the pic and a light until I achieved the look I wanted. Although you can't see it in my pics it is lighted by a single 12 volt light behind the moon. It is really special to see it with the lights out.

I also wanted to have a front porch in this scene but the more I measured and tried to achieve this the more I realized it was not to be. At least not by me. So I settled with the tree. It is made from paper twist ribbon and landscaping foam. The pumpkins are painted metal purchased from Suzanne Andrews Mini's. The wheelbarrow was from a kit purchased from Shelia Seme. The well was totefavor from the 2002 Quarter Connection Convention. It was made by Rita Boyle.

The leaves on the base cover the battery and connection to a simple push button switch that my husband salvaged from a PC. I am hopefully to find more of these but don't have a good source yet.
