I am a firm believer that one should be rewarded if the person did a good job. This is my way of saying "thanks" to my real estate agent for helping me get my first home and making the entire experience fun and educational.
Janice was recommended to me by a friend as I was looking to purchase my first home in St. Louis. As a real estate novice, I had no idea about who, what, or how in buying a house. Janice lead me through the process holding my hand and helped me sign the contract to my first home!
I had been referred to two agents when I began my home search: Janice and someone else who also works for Gundaker (with which Team Davania was associated). After calling and briefly speaking with the first agent, I quickly found that she was only interested in how much home I can "afford" to purchase. She took it upon herself to search for some homes and called back ready to show me houses without asking about what I wanted in a home! Unbelievable? It happened.
I then called Janice. Talk about a 180 degree difference in attitude. Janice was very understanding of my situation as a novice home buyer. The first thing she wanted to do was to meet with me. At our first meeting, she took her time to get to know me as a person as well as the things I wanted in a home. She explained things clearly and in detail about the home buying process. She was genuinely caring and was very knowledgeable. I later learned that she has lived in the St. Louis area since 1966 and has been an active member of the community. It's no wonder that she knows the areas around here so well. She is also in the multimillion sales club and ranks in the top 5% of sales in her office!
I was really amazed at the patience Janice had. She was extremely accommodating in arranging times to show me houses and in explaining how to critically examine them. Every showing became an educational process as I learned how to evaluate homes and think in terms of resale in the future in addition to how I might enjoy each home. I appreciated her brutal honesty in everything as she walked through the houses with me. She was available at all times, sometimes even very late in the evening to discuss any questions I had. It is not uncommon for her to work until past midnight to close a deal or to meet a particular person's deadline.
"Janice" is really a team of three people who work extremely well together to help her clients. Glenn Davania, her husband, who is also a realtor, is a wealth of knowledge not only about houses but also about life in general. I thoroughly enjoyed his wit as we commented on different homes he showed. He was instrumental in helping me weed out some houses which were clearly (to him, and later, me) bad choices, as well as provide valuable tips on how to improve my current home. They have been so busy that most recently, her daughter Rebecca joined the team as well.
Janice and Glenn have become more than just business partners; they have become my friends. It is my hope that this endorsement will bring them more business.
