Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Can you recommend a good doctor in my home town?
Answer: Please check the NDRF doctor's list. I am just a patient, not a referral service or an organization. Finding a good doctor is difficult for the majority of patients, and most patients have to travel to find a knowledgeable specialist. I myself do not have a knowledgeable doctor in my own home town or even in my own home state.
Question: Can you recommend this or that drug? Do I have POTS given these set of symptoms?
Answer: Please see a qualified doctor to answer those kinds of questions.
Questions: Where can I go to chat with other patients?
Answer: Try the NDRF Discussion Forum.
Question: Will I ever get better?
Answer: That is impossible for me to answer. Many patients do get better over time spontaneously. Spontaneous recovery usually happens within five years of the first onset of symptoms. After five years recovery is still possible, but less likely. Some patients never get better no matter what they do, and that is why we need to lobby for more research funding.
