FullPixelSearch allows users to search for and extract information from 8 bit color and grayscale images in PICT format. The pixel searching capabilities of FullPixelSearch are analogous to keyword searching within text documents. However, because images are typically richer in information than text, they represents a superior medium for pattern recognition. In addition, FullPixelSearch 2.0 employs fuzzy logic to greatly extend the searching capabilities.
In FullPixelSearch, users assemble a search template or "model" by copying and pasting a region of interest or by drawing pixels directly into the template. FullPixelSearch than scans the image and marks the location of all regions that match the user-defined search criteria. The identified regions are subsequently plotted in a histogram which can be saved in numerical form.
FullPixelSearch is used in a wide range of scientific and artistic disciplines including; astronomy to analyze images of planets and stars, earth science and geology for remote sensing and satellite image and aerial photograph analysis, biology, radiology and microscopy for examining X-ray, MRI and PET images, engineers use FullPixelSearch in material science and for non-destructive testing and law enforcement and forensic scientists for analysis of crime scenes. Graphic artists and designers use FullPixelSearch for digital photograph analysis and for retouching images.
Features in FullPixelSearch 2.0 include:
°Implementation of a fuzzy logic searching engine which yields fine control of the pattern and pixel searching routines.Future versions will include;°Support of irregular (lasso) selections and multiple selections within an image.
°The ability to customize the size, shape and scale of the floating histogram window.
°An improved scheme for marking "hits" on the screen is employed in this latest version. For hits that result in simple regions, i.e., not too convoluted, the classic marching ants or marquee is used. For hits that produce highly complex regions, a light-gray marking is used.
°Support for searching in rotated mode.
°Batch searching of images.°Support for "replace" and "exclude" modes of searching.
°Support for 24 bit graphics and additional file formats.
