PASTOR'S PAGE
Dear Friends,
I'm glad that you have stopped by our website to visit Windham Hill United Church of Christ. My name is Sally Colegrove and I am the new settled pastor, having arrived on September 1st. During my first two months at Windham Hill I have found an amazing community of faith. Windham Hill is a church for all ages and is an inclusive place of worship and faith development. Our church is active in the community and reaches out beyond our local setting with mission connections to the wider world through our denomination, the United Church of Christ.
On Sunday mornings we gather for worship at 9:30, beginning as a total church family gathered around the symbols of our reformed faith, the Bible, the communion table and the baptismal font. I have the joy of sharing a moment with our children early in the service before their teachers take them to Fellowship Hall where our church school classrooms are located. They have a further time of worship and singing and then work with our curriculum, Seasons of the Spirit, which is keyed to the common lectionary. In the Meetinghouse I preach from the same lectionary passages. Our worship is led by our talented choir, lay readers and often features special moments of drama or music in addition to prayer, meditation, scripture and the sermon. Following the service we have a time of fellowship with coffee, juice, and homemade goodies.
But our church is not limited to Sunday mornings. The buildings on Windham Hill are alive with activity throughout the week. Our members and friends gather for Bible Study at the parsonage, youth group for our teenagers, Women's Fellowship, choir rehearsal and much more. We are always working toward one of our annual events from the Holiday Fair to Music on the Hill to our monthly Ham and Bean suppers. And we host several community organizations: Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Monday Meals and Habitat for Humanity.
This is a lively and welcoming church. I hope that you will visit us in person and consider making Windham Hill United Church of Christ your church home.
Grace and peace,
Sally Colegrove, pastor
