The purpose of the 32o Masonic Learning Centers for Children, Inc., is to provide quality, state-of-the-art, remedial education to children diagnosed as having dyslexia.

The 32o Masonic Learning Center for Children in Portland is a charity of the Scottish Rite Masons. Its purpose is to provide tutoring for children with language based learning problems of the type typically referred to as dyslexia.
It is also a training center for adults who wish to become certified in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reaching reading funded by the Masons, these services are provided free-of-charge to the children and trainees.

Enrollment

School age children are eligible for enrollment. Applications can be obtained by calling the Center.
Children are typically several years or more delayed in delayed in reading, although first and second grades are less far behind.
The application must be accompanied by an evaluation and include ability, language, and achievement testing. Tests of phonological processing are desirable but not required.
Children are seen individually twice per week.
The program runs for 28 weeks during the school year and follows the public school calendar. A six week summer program is also offered.
