He married (1) MARTHA IRELAND 1651 in  Straford, Fairfield County, Connecticut, daughter of SAMUEL IRELAND and (MARIE) MARY.  She was born 1633 in Of Market, Harbrough, Leicester,  England, and died Abt. 1673 in Stonington, Connecticut.
He married (2) MARTHA STARK Abt. 1673 in Groton or Mystic, Connecticut. Martha desserted John and Ran off with  SAMUEL CULVER ca. 1673/4. John obtained a divorce  in 1680.
He married (3) HANNAH PALMER 25 Aug 1681 in Stonnington, New London, Connecticut, daughter of WALTER PALMER and REBECCA SHORT.  She was born 15 Jun 1634 in Charlestown, Suffolk, Massachusetts, and died Aft. 25 Aug 1681 in Stonnington, New London,  Connecticut.
