This month you're going to take a train trip from the station at Georgetown to the summit of Mount McClellan, via the Georgetown Loop and the Argentine Central. You'll see sights as if you were looking from a train as you progress up the line. In a few places, you would need to get off the train and walk a little bit, such as at Silver Plume, Argentine Falls, Waldorf and Mt. McClellan. These are places where the train would have stopped to allow you to get off, anyway. This approach can lead to some interesting anomalies. Such as passing a passenger train coming down the track on a single track line. Or seeing where you have been, in pix taken from a point further up the line. Or even seeing rocks, trees and other details, miraculously change in pix taken only a few feet apart. But that is the fun of traveling by train through cyber space and time. For this reason, you won't be able to see multiple views of the same thing, such as the High Bridge, although I choose several, there are many more. If you want to see the rest of the many views of this or any other spot along right of way, I suggest you disembark and follow the search instructions below.
Out of 1344 photos I chose Thirty one. These were chosen for historical value, modeling ideas and to give one the feeling of taking a trip over this famous line. The rest of the photos can be seen by going to the DPL site and doing a search with the Keywords "georgetown", "georgetown loop", "silver plume", or "argentine central". If you do, plan to spend some time.
