Train wrecks are an unfortunate but integral part of railroading. Besides the unnecessary loss of life, there is the lose of some wonderful railroad equipment. On a positive note, these wrecks give us a chance to view parts of that equipment, which are often hidden. Another positive, of this subject, is that unlike the real thing or even passing by an auto wreck, you can take your time gawking, without worrying about tying up traffic.
Out of 116 photos I chose a couple dozen. These were chosen for historical value and modeling ideas. The rest of the photos can be seen by going to the DPL site and doing a search with the Keyword "Railroad accidents Colorado". If you do, plan to spend some time.
