Below the photo, in the frame is one of my cross-stitch pieces. It is very detailed and so I used just one corner of the photo. See how this was done.
You may be wondering how I was able to make a pattern to stitch from. My husband Paul is a computer programmer and he wrote a very special program to do just that. It scans photographs and prints patterns, just like normal counted cross-stitch, with symbols automatically matched to DMC or Anchor floss. There are a lot of colors in the pattern so he made the symbols large and easy to read.
For those interested in stitching this pattern, it has 112 by 148 stitches. The model is stitched on 14 count and mounted in a 11" by 14" frame.
