January 5, 2004 – Plugging through training

Not too much to report really but I have completed almost a month of my initial training at COEX.  I’ve completed systems and cockpit procedures training and will be starting back in the simulator in a few days.  Really not too much different than all the other training cycles I’ve been through in the last couple of years but it is easier this time around to be sure.

It’s nice being in Houston for the winter.  It feels downright weird to be outside in January with a temperature of 77 degrees, but I like it.

I’m expecting to finish training in about three more weeks and will do my IOE in February.  My domicile is currently scheduled to be Newark but I’m hoping to change that to Cleveland prior to finishing training.  I’ll know that part for sure in about two weeks.

It’s been nice seeing old friends who I haven’t seen since summer of 2001 and we’re all amazed at how much we’ve been through since then.  Many have flown for other airlines and some haven’t flown at all.  It’s been really cool hanging out with my buddy Steve again and we’re both a lot less stressed this time.

That’s really about it.  More updates as significant events happen.
