Where are we in God's end time scenario? It is spring of 1998, and we are awash with signs of the end times. But, where are we exactly? How close are we to the Great Tribulation? Given that the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures are our compass and map to understand these events, what has happened, what is happening, and what is about to happen? Let's review five areas as to where we are and synchronize our prophetic watches.

A. The Middle East Peace Accord appears to be the prophetic agreement that ushers in the Great Tribulation beginning in Jerusalem.

1. Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres were scoffers of the God of Israel in making the agreement.

Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, O scoffers, who rule this people who are in Jerusalem, ISA 28:14

Rabin scoffed at God saying that the Bible is not the deed for the land of Israel and that he did not believe in the "Greater Israel," a reference to God's covenant with Abraham and Abraham's descendants with the land of Israel. On the day that Yitzhak Rabin was shot, this was the Torah teaching.

And the Lord appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him. GEN 12:7

And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, "Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever." GEN 13:14-15

2. These leaders proposed a "land for peace" deal that divides the land of Israel. This is one of the reasons for God's great judgment upon the whole earth. Israel was scattered throughout the nations because we would not give the land its Sabbatical rest. Now, Israel is dividing the land and bringing God's wrath.

I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. JOE 3:2

3. The Yitzhak Rabin agreement is the present Middle East Peace Accord. Rabin's name is found in the Hebrew verse of the 70th week of Israel.

And he will make a firm covenant with the many [Rabin] for one week,... even until a complete destruction,... DAN 9:27(selected)

4. The Middle East Peace Accord is also called the "Covenant of Death" and the "Pact with the Grave." - the former title from the citizens of Israel being blown up by Palestinian suicide bombers and the latter from the confirmation process of world leaders at Rabin's funeral and grave site.

Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol [grave] we have made a pact. The overwhelming scourge will not reach us when it passes by, for we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception." ISA 28:15

5. "Peace and Security" have dominated the theme of the Middle East Peace Accord beginning with the declaration of principles in September 1993 at the White House signing ceremony. "The Peace and Security Agreement" is the actual title for the initial effort leading to the OSLO II present day version. The Apostle Paul says that "Peace and Security" will be said before destruction (the Great Tribulation) comes.

While they are saying, "Peace and safety [security]!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1TH 5:3

6. Jerusalem has become the key obstacle to the Middle East Peace negotiation. The Har Homa building project brought this point home for everyone in the world. All nations (including the U.S.) will turn against Jerusalem leading to God's final judgment.

Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. And it will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. And it will come about in that day that I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. ZEC 12:2-3,9

7. The Middle East Peace Accord, the OSLO II agreement, has an annulment clause. If the agreement is not finalized including the negotiation for Jerusalem, then the entire agreement is canceled and of none effect in May of 1999.

And your covenant with death shall be canceled, and your pact with Sheol [grave] shall not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through, then you become its trampling place. As often as it passes through, it will seize you. For morning after morning it will pass through, anytime during the day or night. and it will be sheer terror to understand what it means. ISA 28:18-9

WATCH! Watch for Arafat's declaration of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capitol in early 1999. He wants nothing less than all of the land of Israel - that is his definition of Palestine.

8. The Temple Mount Faithful, Temple Institute, and other Jewish organizations have taken concrete and specific steps toward preparing for the altar service to begin anew on the temple mount. They have attempted repeatedly to place the cornerstone and measure the inner court. They have built a practice altar at the Dead Sea. They have trained priests for animal sacrifice. They have made the priestly garments. They have made the altar implements (bowls, hooks, etc). They are actively gaining support and resources. They are conducting animal sacrifices at various locations and times in Israel to bring attention to their cause.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, agrees with the religious right that they should be able to pray on the temple mount. He has pledged in writing to help get a piece of the temple mount and he is actively negotiating for it. Yasser Arafat is showing a picture of Solomon's temple out of an old Bible and proclaiming to Arab leaders that this is what the Jews are after. He is right!

WATCH! Watch for the negotiations of Jerusalem to include a piece of the temple mount for the Jews.

According to the prophecies, the cornerstone must be set, the altar must be operating, and some kind of negotiated understanding must exist concerning the temple mount at the beginning of the Great Tribulation.

Therefore thus says the Lord God, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed. And I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the level; then hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the secret place." ISA 28:16-17

Interestingly enough, the prophecy sequences the cornerstone being set prior to the annulment of the agreement (ISA 28:18).

And there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, "Rise and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and those who worship in it. And leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months." REV 11:1-2

The Revelation account seems to state that Israel gets the inner court area while the nations (gentiles) get the outer court areas of the temple mount. Within the inner court is an altar and those who worship in it.

WATCH! Watch for the cornerstone to be set, the altar to be built and dedicated.

WATCH! Watch for the Great Tribulation to start with the shutting down of the daily altar service.

WARNING! Do not speak against this altar when it is set-up! God will measure us all by where we stand with the altar. The altar is God's ownership mark on the earth, where His Name is placed, declaring that the earth is the Lord's and everything in it. Speaking against God's ownership mark is joining ranks with the antimessiah and participating in the abomination.

The altar is where the Great Tribulation begins. The Great Tribulation begins with the antimessiah causing the daily altar service (evening and morning lambs) to be stopped. This is the first part of the Abomination of Desolation. The second part is the setting up of an image.

Judgement upon the Household of God begins at this altar. The two witnesses will prophesy from either side of this altar during the Great Tribulation. Seeing the altar set-up and shutdown is a key to knowing where we are! This is the specific sign that Yeshua told His disciples and us concerning the end of the age and His coming.

Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), for then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall. MAT 24:15-21

Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. DAN 12:1

And from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days! DAN 12:11-12

What can we conclude from all this information about the Middle East Peace Accord? First, September 1993 was not the start of the 70th week of Israel. We know this conclusively because the Great Tribulation (the altar shutdown) did not occur 3 2 years later (the winter of 1997). The OSLO II agreement was signed September 28, 1995. It could be the start of the seven-year period if the Great Tribulation begins in the winter of 1999. For that to happen, the altar must first be set-up sometime in 1998, so it can be shutdown to start the Great Tribulation day count.

If the altar is set-up and the Great Tribulation does begin in 1999, then pay particular attention to January 25, 1999. That date is 1,335 days prior to the Feast of Booths in 2002. Also pay close attention to February 24, it could be the day the image is set-up.

We know for sure that the Middle East Peace Accord will be canceled in 1999. The Palestinian Authority has stated that they will declare Palestinian Statehood in 1999. War in the Middle East would be imminent. Only this time, they will be using Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical weapons.

WATCH! Watch for all nations to turn against Jerusalem and Israel.

B. Astronomical signs in the previous three years, activity with the sun presently, and predictions of asteroid/meteorite strikes on the earth appear to fit the prophetic warning of signs in the heavens.

1. In 1996 and 1997, we clearly saw the sign of the red moons on three Biblical holidays. Disturbing events happened in Israel with each one as well. The Scripture is clear that we would see signs in the heavens such as blood moons. The comet Hale-Bopp caused a stir in early 1996 and was a clear sign of destruction coming. Now that they have passed, does anyone remember the signs? Has anyone taken warning?

2. The Sun in our solar system is essential to life on the Earth. The light from the Sun provides the necessary life-giving energy for all living things. If the Sun starts varying slightly in its output of energy, there are serious consequences for the Earth. Every eleven years, the Sun goes through a cycle of sunspots. Solar scientists have developed new solar observatory satellites with astonishing results. It turns out the sun is not quite as stable as everyone had believed. Presently, the scientific community has predicted that we are going to experience some very severe events in the next four years caused by the sun. They call them CME's (coronal mass ejections). Not only are there solar flares happening (sunspots), but actual pieces of the Sun are now exploding off and into the solar system. When one of these CME's hits the earth, it kills unprotected astronauts in orbit, knocks out satellites, and overloads power grids on the Earth. Thank God we have a magnetic field surrounding the earth that shields us from most of the energy or else we would be scorched to death. Now here's the problem. Yes, the sun is doing this more frequently, peaking in four years; but, the earth's magnetic field is collapsing. The shield that protects the earth is decreasing. Again, the book of Revelation says something about this.

And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun; and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues; and they did not repent, so as to give Him glory. REV 16:8-9

If the sun doesn’t get us, then the meteroids will. Apparently, on November 17, 1998 or November 18, 1999, the Earth will pass through the dust trail of comet Tempel-Tuttle. A meteroid (a tiny meteorite) storm will enter our atmosphere. This occurs every 33 years; but, this is the first year with satellites in orbit. These little specks of debris called the Leonid meteroid storm will threaten the world’s 500 satellites with the impact of .22 caliber bullets. Satellites don’t perform well after they have been shot-up like a road sign.

WATCH! Watch for big power outages, satellite communication failures, and increased radiation from the sun.

3. The astronomical community has made a clear prediction that the earth will be hit by a large asteroid within the next 3-4 years. This is a statistical probability. According to one scientist, Dr. Tom Garrels, the head of the NASA Spacewatch program, we will be hit and it will cause a deep impact into the earth causing dirt and debris to be blown into the earth's atmosphere. This debris will be sufficient to darken the sun for six months. It is not a question of if; it is only a question of when. This guy is not alone; this is the consensus position of the world's scientists. NASA and the USAF have active programs to catalog and potentially react to a Near Earth Orbit event. According to Revelation, the darkness will last only five months, but who is counting?

And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him. And he opened the bottomless pit; and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. REV 9:1-2

This year, the entertainment industry is putting out the next set of "tribulation training films" called Deep Impact and Armageddon. They are about meteorite strikes on the earth and the resulting effects. We have a steady dosage of these movies ranging from Independence Day to Starship Troopers, etc., all of which show the planet being threatened and God is not needed to save the day. It looks like godless propaganda to me, and we are eating it up.

In 1999, a probe launched in 1996 will approach an asteroid called "Eros." NASA hopes to study it then nudge it slightly with an explosion to change its orbit. This is their idea of how to deflect asteroids on a collision course with earth. Is Eros on a collision course with earth? No. Eros' trajectory is well established. It's the other 95% of the asteroids in our solar system that we don't know the trajectory of that bothers the scientific community.

WATCH! Watch for near earth misses and anxiety among people to build from these "tribulation training films."

And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. LUK 21:25-26

C. World wide food shortages, epidemic diseases, the threat of biological attack seems to match the prophetic message of world wide judgment.

1. The world continues for the fourth year in a row to eat more than it has grown. El Nino's weather effect is still not completely known but we do know the following: drought in South America and Africa, insect infestations in the southwest U.S., and early crop failures in Europe are being attributed to it.

2. On the disease front, world health experts are saying that we are now seeing a rise to epidemic levels of tuberculous, cholera, malaria, and a "hospital virus." These highly contagious diseases were contained nearly 40 years ago. What happened? It turns out that the over prescribing of modern antibiotics have produced new gene combinations for the same bacteria. Our own bodies have become incubators for the new strains. Our modern antibiotics no longer work. According to reports, three million people die each year of TB. This new biological battle does not take into account the on-going struggle with AIDS or various venereal diseases which also claim three million lives each year.

3. In the last year, weapons of mass destruction held by nations like Iraq have entered into the consciences of the general citizens. Defense and law enforcement experts have known for some time the dangers, but the threat has grown increasingly probable. In the last few months alone, a plot by Saddam Hussein was stopped (delayed?) from attacking the U.S. and Israel. This is what the UN inspectors furor is all about in Iraq.

The Scripture is clear about God's use of famine, pestilence and war as judgments upon the earth in the Great Tribulation. All of these things have been and are emerging upon our immediate horizon. In particular, the fourth seal of the Revelation is the judgment called "Death" with Hell following after it. The judgment will be the death of 1/4 of mankind.

And I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. And authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth. REV 6:8

We can clearly see the prospects of this judgment are at the world's doorstep.

D. Globalism and the rapid pace of technology is accelerating into the antimessiah's rule and reign of destruction.

1. The Scriptures tell us that a prince of the people (Romans) who destroyed the sanctuary (temple) would rise to power and lead the world to great destruction. He is called the son of perdition (destruction) and he is ultimately judged by the Messiah King. This Roman prince is called the antimessiah and the beast.

It appears that such a man has emerged into the world that fits all the identifying prophecies of the antimessiah. His name is Prince Charles of Wales. No other man in the world can match his lineage and heritage originating from King David of Israel. He also shows his lineage from virtually every world leader in history. He is a Roman prince with the ancient symbol of the red dragon. His name equals 666 in English, and when translated into Hebrew, equals 666. The odds of this happening are astronomical. In his coat of arms is every Biblical symbol of the antimessiah including the heraldic beast, the composite creature of leopard, bear, and lion. The red dragon is also his ancient Roman symbol. The Apostle John described the beast and dragon for us.

And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. REV 13:2

There is more evidence to suggest that Prince Charles is the antimessiah than you have to prove your own identity.

WATCH! Watch everything that Prince Charles does and says, particularly if he goes to Israel.

2. Since the death of Princess Diana, Prince Charles has emerged on the world scene with unusual vigor and enthusiasm. Evidence is now mounting that he is pulling strings behind the scenes and accelerating the worlds move toward globalism - One World Government. His influential theme is under the banner of Sustainable Environment, Sustainable Business, and Sustainable Government. It is all the same thing - an agreement between business and government to operate in union with the environment. Those who get on board and cooperate fully receive favor.

Thus says the Lord my God, "Pasture the flock doomed to slaughter. Those who buy them slay them and go unpunished, and each of those who sell them says, 'Blessed be the Lord, for I have become rich!' And their own shepherds have no pity on them. For I shall no longer have pity on the inhabitants of the land," declares the Lord; "but behold, I shall cause the men to fall, each into another's power and into the power of his king; and they will strike the land, and I shall not deliver them from their power." ZEC 11:4-6

This is how the Bible describes the process of globalism - men getting rich and then falling into the power of their kings, who fall into the power of one shepherd (the antimessiah).

So I pastured the flock doomed to slaughter, hence the afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Favor, and the other I called Union; so I pastured the flock. ZEC 11:7

WATCH! Watch for the theme of globalism to become "Favor" and "Union."

While the antimessiah has no power of his own, he will usurp the power of others. He will rise in the midst of ten kings, eliminating three of them and securing his position of power. The antimessiah must come to power after the altar shutdown because he is only given 42 months to rule.

Then I annihilated the three shepherds in one month, for my soul was impatient with them, and their soul also was weary of me. Then I said, "I will not pasture you. What is to die, let it die, and what is to be annihilated, let it be annihilated; and let those who are left eat one another's flesh." And I took my staff, Favor, and cut it in pieces, to break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples. ZEC 11:8-10

The betrayal spoken of here is not with Israel. This is the betrayal of World Globalism. It won't be global government; it will be dictatorship by the devil. The truth and reality of this deceit and loss of freedom will be evident to many. Zechariah defines it this way.

So it was broken on that day, and thus the afflicted of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the Lord. ZEC 11:11

WATCH! Watch for the global government to become a double-cross.

3. The best and only way to control the people in supporting globalism is to control their access to money. The biometric implant technology that will be standardized by the Signature Electronic Authentication Law (SEAL) bill in combination with the Y2k problem for computers will undoubtedly usher in the new way to buy and sell. The US government in 1999 will step-up its efforts toward cashless transactions by mandating only electronic fund transfer. Government personnel, particularly the military, will be the first to receive the implant technology. They will have no choice, except termination or court martial.

The April 27, 1998 issue of Time magazine has an article entitled, "The Big Bank Theory." It explains the changes coming to money used in the world. An example is given of this electronic money sent by a father to his daughter at college.

"For starters, you can send the money over the Internet encoded in an E-mail instead of sending a check. This saves you the trouble of balancing the checkbook at the end of the month, and it gives you the option of transferring the money from wherever you want: mutual fund, money market, even an old-fashioned checking account. Your daughter can store the money any way she wants – on her laptop, on a debit card, even (in the not too distant future) on a chip implanted under her skin." pgs 50-51

The calamity of the year 2,000 computer problem will demand regulatory control of electronic money and be completely traceable by the government - the antimessiah global government.

WATCH! Watch for the biometric implant chip to be introduced in all western nations.

WATCH! Watch for believers of the Pretrib Rapture to deny this Biblical fulfillment.

E. The New Millennium is the end of the age and the dawning of the prophetic scenario.

1. The Great Apostasy has begun under the banner of Ecumenical Unity. The Pope and Catholic Church are preparing to host several special religious services to bring in the new millennium. These religious services are planned for 1999 to bring all monotheistic religions into ecumenical agreement. They include Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. According to some sources, they are hoping to conduct many of them in Israel including Bethlehem and Jerusalem.

The Scripture warns us that at the end a "great falling away" will occur. The falling away is also called the "Apostasy."

And at that time many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another. MAT 24:10

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 2TH 2:3

WATCH! Watch for millennial celebrations and ceremonies to set the theme for apostasy.

2. While many church leaders are preaching revival and ecumenical unity, the Scripture defines the last day events for believers as a challenge to our faith. We can see elements of this apostasy becoming very evident in our lower moral standard, the demise of families through divorce, children being abused, children killing other children, etc. It has gone beyond drugs, adultery, child molestations, incest, and debauchery. Many churches are simply dying for lack of interest. Other churches are exploiting the "health and wealth" teaching, worshiping the god of materialism and money. It's a spiritual Ponzi scam. Paganism is so rampant that you really can't tell the difference anymore between it and church (duh!). Still further, revivals are being announced with all manner of spiritual phenomena. Animal sounds are erupting from people (why are they always unclean animals?), some people are hissing like snakes and wagging their tongues (I'm not making this up!), and some women writhe on the floor claiming spiritual orgasms (sex with the Holy Spirit?). The end result is obvious.

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these. 2TI 3:1-5

WATCH! Watch for church leaders to sell out the body of Messiah for selfish reasons.

3. The prophecy says that the church will get a new name during the Great Tribulation. God will refer to it as Babylon, the mother of harlots. The harlot church and everyone in it will be severely judged. This is not a personal judgment of Christianity today; it is an open declaration of what the apostasy will lead to. Many brethren today are sensing something is happening and want to prepare properly for God's judgment. Other church brethren are willfully ignoring the mounting evidence of the coming Great Tribulation in hopes for the pretribulation rapture. Those who actually despise God simply say things will keep going like they have before.

In a recent international news article, Pope John Paul said, "Attempts to predict the end of the world are illusory and misleading." In the past, the pope has said that it is wrong to think that the new millennium in 2000 would be accompanied by the Last Judgment.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you may not participate in her sins and that you may not receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.' " REV 18:4-7

WATCH! Watch for believers to be leaving organized churches.

WATCH! Watch for church leaders to deny that we are in the Great Tribulation when altar is shutdown and the antimessiah proclaims himself as God.

WATCH! Watch for church men to be the first to go into captivity in the Great Tribulation.

Am I saying that the Great Tribulation begins in the winter of 1999? No. I am saying it could and we will know for sure by the events in Jerusalem. Am I trying to alarm people and cause them to be concerned. No. The events themselves are doing that just fine. Have I lost my "marbles" and decided to "check out of this world" like a survivalist nut? No. I am watching closely and comparing actual events with Scripture. I’m saying it is time to be sober and wise about this subject. In the first century, spiritual thinking was dominated by Yeshua’s resurrection and ascending to heaven. Today, our thinking should be dominated by Yeshua’s descent from heaven and our resurrection.

Once the Great Tribulation begins, we will hold onto the blessed hope. We will count 1,290 days and then we will see...

the sign of the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory!
