Bible prophecies and Y2K problems

Have you ever been to the bank and couldn't cash a check because the computer was down? Now magnify that problem for your bank account, brokerage account, savings account, loan payment, credit card, the stock market, the commodities market, and gold/silver transactions.

Can you imagine every form of electronic money being affected? Your 401(k) account would be in jeopardy. Your company and employer would have trouble with your paycheck. Your retirement account would be in trouble. Anything stored in a computer would potentially be disturbed, not accessible, or worse yet, lost.

“Can't happen," you say. You had better think again because computer experts are sounding the alarm as hard and as fast as anyone will listen. Alarm bells are going off in many government agencies about this impending computer system failure including the IRS, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Defense and the FAA Air Traffic Control system, to list a few. Every transportation system using computers to schedule and operate planes, trains and trucks is concerned. The electric companies, public utilities, and gas companies fear they will lose records and automatic operations. Emergency services such as police, fire and medical are not sure what will happen. Experts say it will be a nightmare! Is this the Great Tribulation? No. It's the collapse of our technological house of cards. It is called Y2k - the Year 2,000 computer problem.

It has been known for many years, but engineers said it was no problem. Back when there was not enough memory chips or storage area for computer programs, some really ‘smart’ computer programmers decided that a computer date would consist of two digits for the month, two digits for the day, and only two digits for the year (i.e., mm/dd/yy). They were patted on the back for saving two digits in the computer's memory. The two digits missing are for the year 1900, for the years in this millennia and century. In the 1970's and 80's, computers used this dating system extensively. Almost every application program and data file used this “standard" way of saving a little memory space. Only a few voices raised the question, “Yeah, but what happens when the year 2,000 comes?"

I remember the question being asked in the companies I worked for and most people shrugged their shoulders and said, “What? Are you kidding? Technology is moving so fast that these machines and programs will be replaced by that time or some smart guy will fix it." Everyone went back to work except the real nerd type, brilliant computer programmer who mumbled under his breath, “It will be a nightmare and the end of the world as we know it."

Whoa! Wait a minute! I thought the doomsayers were all right-wing, extremist, fundamentalist, religious crazies who don't trust the government, home school their children and flaunt their second amendment rights. Who is making all these dire predictions? Who is telling us that we are about to suffer severe calamity worse than the Great Depression? Who is telling us to get our money out of banks? Who is saying store up food and find alternative light, power, and fuel? Is it people expecting the Second Coming of Yeshua? No. It is computer experts who understand how networked computer systems will fail on January 1, 2000 at 12:01 a.m. It is government computer experts who are saying, “we can't fix it all.” It is computer scientists who say the deadline can not be moved. It is high tech people who are going through the classic process of an approaching disaster. It is people who are angry, in a panic, some are in denial, and some are getting depressed. Some are accepting the idea that an asteroid strike might be more merciful to the world.

Imagine the mass confusion and fear when people think they have lost all their money or can't get to it. Imagine the government stepping in to save us (that really scares me).

Do you know how many computers are used that affect your daily life? Do you have any idea what a computer really does and how it does it?

Where does all this fit into Bible prophecy you ask? Does the Bible have anything to say about a global economic collapse and high tech problems/solutions?

Yes! The Scriptures tell us that at the end, travel and knowledge will increase. Bible scholars in previous generations argued that Revelation and end time prophecies could not be literal. They pointed out that all the eyes of the world could not see a singular event as the Bible suggests for several things. It is only in this last generation with the advent of satellite technology that everyone can see a singular event. For example, Princess Diana’s funeral was seen by 2.5 billion people.

The Scriptures also say that during the Great Tribulation there will be a high technology solution to the economic process of the whole world. It is called the “mark of the beast" given to man. It says that this mark put in the forehead or back of the hand will control the buying and selling of everything. It implies that the world will have a new way of exchanging money. It says that the False Prophet will compel men to take the mark and bow down to (worship and honor) the beast (the antimessiah).

There are two more strong references in the book of Revelation concerning this mark.

First, there will be some kind of high technology device implanted into people that is used in the exchange of value. A mere hundred years ago, theologians “knew” this had to be symbolic. They could not imagine electronic money. Bio-implant technology is already used in controlling animals and some experiments have been conducted on unsuspecting correctional prisoners. The technology does exist for the world to adopt this system for personal identification and electronic access to your bank account. Scanners recognize products and goods. It is not difficult for computers to recognize people with a bio-chip implant. Prince Charles has already received one.

Secondly, a religious man (the False Prophet) will have to get people to take it and use it. He will have to overcome the Biblical warnings about the mark and himself.

Thirdly, anyone who receives the mark will also receive a very severe sore because of its implantation.

Finally, anyone receiving it has made an eternal decision resulting in death.

Of all the varied subjects in the book of Revelation, the prophecy about the mark of the beast is probably the best known around the world. Even unbelievers have heard that you “don't take the mark." What is not well known is the reasoning behind the system of bio-implant chips into the back of the hand or forehead. The fact is that the world's money is becoming increasingly electronic. Computers already control virtually every major financial transaction. The obvious exception is drug smugglers and illegal transactions. If computer systems are going to fail or potentially fail because of the Y2k problem, then a solution must be found for the electronic money. There isn't enough cash money printed.

Presently, the people of the world are sailing along like the Titanic not believing that they can suffer serious damage. The iceberg waiting for them is already known and floating in time. The analogy is profound and stunningly similar.

The increasing attention to the Y2k problem has governments, -- both federal and state -- conducting investigations, running tests, and trying to fix elements of the problem. The test and analysis is conducted by simply telling the computer system that today is January 1, 2000. They then stand back and watch. So far, the results have been devastating. It really is a problem and it is not going away by ignoring it.

People who are in the know are saying that there are not enough computer programmers or time to fix the Y2k problem. So what are they going to do?

The first approach is being implemented. The second approach is too simple; but, the last approach will get the most attention. Presently, smart card technology has enabled computers to recognize a human carrying a credit card with an embedded chip that responds to the computer. They are called smart cards. But smart cards have a very serious problem; they can be stolen, altered, and lost. The real solution is smart card technology implanted into every person. It is hard to lose your hand or forehead.

Why the hand or forehead? Bio-implant chips must be inserted in a body location with heat variance. That is, the temperature must fluctuate and vary during the course of its use to recharge the power cell in the chip. The power cell is lithium based. Every major electronic company in the world has a research and development program to build a working bio-implant chip for mass use. Imagine the sales potential. Each chip costs $19.95 to build and install. That's 6 billion people times $19.95 which equals 120 billion dollars. Any questions about why companies want to build it?

Here is another fascinating point about the use of lithium in the power cell. If this power cell breaks down in the body, like the silicon gel breast implants did, then a very severe sore will develop in the person. The first plague in the book of Revelation appears to be just a matter of time.

Here is another point affecting this issue. Various world banks and sources within the Federal Reserve System are saying that the world is planning on being cashless (total electronic money) by March of 1999. Several years ago, Congress mandated that all Federal transfer of funds be accomplished electronically by January 2, 1999. There are a lot of people in this country getting a Federal paper check for Social Security or Military Retirement who do not have a bank account. They insist on getting the check in person rather than an automatic deposit to a bank. In January of 1999, the government will not send you another paper check. You must be part of the electronic banking system. Even civilian employers are forcing their employees in large companies to receive automatic deposits to their checking accounts.

Just this last month, March 1998, a senate bill (1594) was introduced by Senator Bennett called the Signature and Electronic Authentication Law (SEAL) allowing banks to establish a biometric system as substitute for the handwritten signature. If it passes, this is the Law that will establish the standards for bio-implant chips for electronic banking.

If everyone’s money is electronic, then you can understand the impact of those payments not being made because your bank’s computer can't get past the year 2,000. This disaster gets very personal. If you can't get paid, then you can't pay your creditors. Suddenly, the need to solve this problem will be overwhelming. To get your money and keep the economy moving, you will need to plug into the new computer system controlling your money. You will need the computer bio-implant chip to access your account.

It will be the high tech solution everyone was wanting. Think of the benefits. No more bank robberies. No more computer fraud. No more hassles with your taxes. It will be great, right? Wrong. It will be the monetary system of the antimessiah and the Great Tribulation.

As believers you will not be able to take this mark of the beast. The world will know that you are “nuts." Besides a great religious leader (the False Prophet) will be countering the Biblical warning. He will tell everyone that those prophecies in the book of Revelation are not being interpreted correctly. “They are all symbolic, and besides, they were fulfilled a long time ago." Believers of the pretrib rapture will argue that it can't be the mark of the beast prophecy because the rapture hasn't happened yet. Average people in the world will want their money and say that Bible believers are harming the economy. Many religious people will be deceived and take the mark. Everyone will be afraid (those who take the mark and those who don't).

Globalism will remove all your personal freedoms by controlling what you buy and sell, who you can buy from and sell to, and control the price and instantaneous tax collection of everything bought and sold.

I find it ironic that so many people don't believe in God or His prophecies but they can see disaster coming. If they would read the prophecy for themselves, they would see that this mark of beast stuff with bio-implant chips happens in the Great Tribulation.

One last item: It won't be exactly January 1, 2000. Most companies and the governments operate on fiscal years which begin as early as July or October 1999. Others are learning about this problem right now and are already withdrawing their money and leaving the country.

What do I recommend? I recommend that you call upon the Name of the Lord to save you and your family, because only God can deliver you from this. You're not going to save yourself from this one. Your stuff won't save you. Your gold and silver coins won't save you. Your cash won't save you. Your gun won't save you. You will not save yourself!

You’re not going to want money in the Great Tribulation anyway. God says that He is going to judge every god set up against Him. He will start with the god called “Money.”
