Day 2: At Sea

With the ship loafing along at about 7 knots, there is little motion and no vibration to disturb you. You awaken in the morning and go out on the verandah to discover that a passing rain shower has combined with the rising sun to give you a beautiful rainbow - a great way to start your day at sea...

This is your day to really explore the ship. There are a variety of planned activities, including presentations in the BuenaVista Theater on excursions in Nassau, trips to the ship's spa, or even a presentation on gems! But if you're like us, you will want to take this time to get to know your surroundings (and there is a lot to know...).

A good place to start would be the pools - there are 3 on board (well, 4 actually, but the forward one is reserved for the crew). This one is the kid's pool, called Mickey's Pool. The yellow water slide is 'held' by Mickey's gloved hand coming out of the deck...

In addition, there is a family pool (Goofy's pool) and an adults-only pool forward (Quiet Cove).

Deck 10 is mostly an open walk-around that circles the ship. There is plenty of space for sunbathing, or just enjoying the great weather and terrific views...

Of course, if you are looking for more athletic activities, there is always the basketball court (just to the right of this picture).

Dinner for us on Day 2 was at Parrot Cay, a casual Carribean-themed restaurant. Located on deck 3, it has the huge portholes typical of that deck...

The show on Day 2 is "Hercules, the 'muse'-ical"; a humorous re-telling of the Disney movie featuring an outstanding trio as the Muses, and employing quasi-Vaudeville jokes.
