John Baldwin and wife Forrest Belle (Honnold) Pendroy

John Baldwin Pendroy was the son of James Martin and Sarah (Baldwin) Pendroy
John Baldwin Pendroy - born 02/24/1860 in Marion Co. IA. He died on 06-29-1933 at age 73. John Baldwin Pendroy married Forrest Belle Honnold.
Belle (Honnold) Pendroy's obituary was published in the 1897 Knoxville paper.
"Mrs. J.B. Pendroy - Relatives at Monroe last week received intelligence of the death at Pendroy, North Dakota of Mrs. J.B. Pendroy, formerly Miss Belle Honnold, daughter of the late WS Honnold. She was born at Knoxville Iowa, Nov. 14, 1860. When a young girl she began teaching and devoted several years to the work. She was married to Mr. Pendroy in 1889. She leaves a small daughter, a husband and many relatives."
After the civil war in 1881, many Pendroys including the James M. Pendroy (Levi Boots Pendroy's parents) and other Pendroy families went west in a covered wagons.
This Pendroy family founded what was referred to as the Pendroy Colony in the North Dakota Territory which became Pendroy, North Dakota near the current towns of Velva and Towner N. D. in the Mouse/Souris River area in north central North Dakota. (McHenry County).
