The researchers placed four worms into four separate jars. In the first jar was alcohol. The second jar was full of cigarette smoke. The third jar held human sperm and the fourth jar was full of ordinary soil.
After only one day, the worms in the alcohol, the cigarette smoke and the sperm were all dead. The only living worm was the one placed in the jar of soil.
