How do I pick a good company?

Look at this list above, copy it and paste in into the box on http://quote.yahoo.com, and select detailed view.

Find companies that have a big spread, or a large difference between the bid and the ask, and the last trade is around the Bid.  A big difference is at least 5%.

When you have completed a trade, please enter it in the investing conferance on the RCDS E mail server, and at what price it should be sold (Ask).

CNBC Student Stock Tournament (SST)

    The Rye Country Day Investment Club is competing against 2400 other schools across the nation in the sst.  We joined late in the first semester, with only three weeks remaining in the tournament, and we made an impressive gain and turned $10,000 in play money into $11,156.28, a gain of 11.56%!!  We will compete again in the second semester for the grand prize of $18,000 worth of GE stock.   If you are interested in taking part in the tournament, please come to our next meeting, next Day 1 in room 310 or 308.

For the first semester the investment club gained 11.5% in three weeks!!

Visit the CNBC SST website. Although we cannot give you the password for our portfolio, you can get investing information, and look at the leaders.

If we do exceptionally well, our school will be announced by Bill Griffith at 4:50 P.M weeknights on CNBC (Channel 45 for southern Westchester), if you live out of Westchester that is your problem!
