Welcome to my Web site!

This page provides access to a number of web pages I have created.

Most of the rest of the web pages I have prepared have to do with various aspects of the programs of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and the vast majority of them are part of the US Scouting Service Project (USSSP).

I maintain four sections of the USSSP site:

bullet

The Advancement Center, where requirements for all Boy Scout, Cub Scout and Venturing advancements and awards are listed.

bullet

The Merit Badge Center, where requirements for all of the currently available Merit Badges are provided,

bullet

The Awards section, where requirements for mny adult and youth awards and "square knots" are listed, and.

bullet

The Health and Safety Center which includes
bullet

The Guide to Safe Scouting, an on-line version of the definitive publication listing safety procedures and rules for the programs of the BSA.

bullet

The Health and Safety Guide, an on-line version of this publication listing additional safety procedures and rules for the programs of the BSA.

The pages listed below are some miscellaneous pages that don't fit on the USSSP site.

bullet

An article on Jewish Scouting, from the English edition of the FORWARD on November 6, 1998.

bullet

An article on the new 11th Edition of the Boy Scout Handbook, that appeared in the Cleveland Plain Dealer on November 18, 1998.

bullet

A page showing the cover and some pages of a Mini-book supplement to the new Boy Scout Handbook.

bullet

A page with images of the Silver Beaver Award, which is presented by BSA Councils.

I have also provided some Web pages for the Cleveland Jewish Committee on Scouting (CJCOS), which serves Jewish youth in the Greater Cleveland Council, BSA.

Here you can find localized versions of the Application forms for the Emblems awarded to Jewish youth registered in the programs of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), to Jewish participants in the Exploring program of Learning for Life (Explorers), and to Adults  by the National Jewish Committee on Scouting (NJCOS).

The forms have been modified from the nationally issued forms to provide the name and address of the Awards Chairman of the CJCOS.  Since the CJCOS submits all applictions for youth and adults in the Greater Cleveland Council, and pays for the awards, all applications should be sent to him, rather than directly to the distributor of the emblems.

The awards are:

bullet

The Maccabee Emblem - for Tiger Cubs and younger Cub Scouts (Grades 1 - 3)

bullet

The Aleph Emblem - for older Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts (Grades 3 - 5)

bullet

The Ner Tamid Emblem - for Younger Boy Scouts ( Ages 11 - 14)

bullet

The Etz Chaim Emblem - for older Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers (Ages 14-21)

bullet

The Shofar Award - for outstanding service by adults in the promotion of Scouting among Jewish youth ( Note: The recipient of this award need not be registered with the BSA)
