The Southern Gentleman

Gentleman Defined
Why Do This?
Some Thoughts
Seminars

Welcome, Gentlemen!

My pride in the South, and my desire to hold to some of our long standing customs has led me to develop this website to the honor of the Southern Gentleman.

Many of our long standing traditions in the South have passed on.  Time, shifting mores, political correctness have all dictated changes to the way that we live.  However, there is one Southern style and custom that can and should live on.  A tradition that surpasses the changes in morals and economics that caused most of the old South to pass, as it was written, "Gone With The Wind."  It is never politically incorrect to be a gentleman.

I suppose that we are never the perfect gentleman.  A gentleman must always seek to improve himself, and to develop himself into a finer man.  A gentleman must always seek a way to make those around him more comfortable, and feel more honored, by his presence.

So, whether you hold yourself to be a gentleman, or aspire to become one, perhaps the information on these pages will give you some guidance and direction for improvement and betterment.  I, too, am seeking to be a better man than I am today.  Therefore, I welcome your comments, criticisms, stories, etc.  Please write to me, Richard C. Gremillion, at: parlangua@worldnet.att.net

I look forward to hearing from you.

A Word to the Ladies

Nothing is as important to a Southern Gentleman as an opportunity to honor a true Lady.  Please accept that it is not my intention to slight the wonderful Ladies of the South by not including them in this website.  My capacity to develop this site is limited by my time and abilities.  There is so much to being a Lady that I cannot know.

If, however, there is one among us who wishes to teach and learn more about proper behavior as a Lady, I will support, encourage, and help in any way possible, the development of a similar web site in their honor.
