The construction of the Alum Creek Bikeway means Westerville, Ohio, now has an opportunity and a reason to enhance the scenic, educational, and recreational value of Otterbein Lake. It is now accessible by Westerville citizens and by those traveling through our community on the new bike path. It is part of the city’s corridor of parkland along Alum Creek, near uptown Westerville and Otterbein College.

This project will provide an excellent way to build a sense of community with the citizens themselves planning, funding, and building this park. A city survey of residents identified a desire for an environmental park in Westerville.

The Alum Creek Bikeway, which passes on the north and east sides of Otterbein Lake, is part of the Westerville bike loop system that connects to the Ohio to Erie Trail.
