Margaret Rasmussen's book,

"The Exciting Growth Years of the City of Ocean Shores"

This history is full of terrific stories about the town, the people and local history. After years as a Tax Consultant in Seattle, Margaret and her husband settled in Ocean Shores in the 1960's. By nature she was passionate about collecting and organizing. She was also passionate about preserving history, even while it was happening. So, she gathered everything she could on the new community where she had settled, and eventually put it into the form of a book. Boxes and scrap books of her research materials were donated to the Ocean Shores Library after it was formed in 1972 and remain there today awaiting microfilming. She also signed the copyright to her book over to the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library to help support the library's special needs in the future.

We've just done another printing of this perennial favorite with locals and visitors alike. If you are in town, you can purchase a copy at the library or the Ocean Shores Interpretive Center. Otherwise email us to have your copy shipped. It's a great read!
