“Why on Earth do you want to learn how to do that, Pip?” Merry said as he regarded his cousin’s face.

Pip fidgeted in his seat.  “Well, what if we get to Bilbo’s party next week and some lass wants to?”

Merry shrugged.  “Maybe she can teach you.  You’ll learn next week.”

“Merry…”

“Oh, stop whining.  I’ll show you...  Just not here.  I don’t want the Took to come around and catch us.”

“Where then?”

Merry took one last long sip of his beer.  “Come with me.  We’re going to the Old Forest.  It’s not that far.”

Pip looked like a frightened puppy, but followed.

Once they were at the edge of the Old Forest, Merry turned to his cousin.  Pip looked wide eyed and curious.

“Come here.”  Merry pulled Pip into a hug.

Merry tilted his face up.  “Follow my lead.  Sometimes it can be simple, like this.”  Merry brushed his lips against Pippin’s.

Pip gasped.  Merry liked that sound.

“And sometimes, you need to do more.”  Merry pressed his lips to Pip’s and ran his tongue over his bottom lip.

“Merry…” Pip opened his mouth, and Merry dove in.  Pip kissed back.

Merry thought Pip was a natural.
