• 10. FOO DOG - flown over Hump to China in WW2, interesting ancient type lucky charm once carried on board a US Army Air Force C-47 "Dakota - Goonie Bird" supply plane to China during WW2. Foo Dogs, also known as Tiger Dogs and/or Lions were considered as guardians of the temple gates - in this case a flying tiger guardian of the Himalayian Mountain pass gates to China, a lucky charm to ward off or warn of enemy planes stationed at the Japanese occupied French Indo-China Hanoi air base. The Foo Dog is around 9 by 9 cm long and tall, made of non-metalic (non-compass interfering) bronze like metal. By design the dog looks to have originated in either India or Burma, and could be quite old! What is offered here is ONE figure. But as the WW2 US pilot's estate contained several Foo Dogs from multiple missions accomplished over the "Hump", the photo provided above is a typical example. Price: $100 + S/H
