Northlight's decoders will receive DMX512 digital protocol for Stage lighting products and converts it into 8 or 24 analog voltages.
No complicated setup, basically the board is plug and play. Easy to use screw terminals, just supply a transformer.

  • The Northlight Systems DMX decoder board is capable of receiving DMX512(1990) signals as specified by USITT.
  • Output voltage range is 0-10 volts or 0-5 volts @ 10 mAmps

    The Mini DIP switch is mounted on the circuit board.
    Use this when infrequent address changes are needed.
    The address is entered in standard binary code, starting with 0.

    SPECS:
    Input Signal: Northlight decoder board accepts DMX 512 1990 as specified by USITT. The decoder board can receive data at the full rate. The decoder is responsive to all 512 channels.
    Output: Output is 8 or 24 channels @ 0 - 5 or 0 - 10 volts, @ 10 milliAmps. There are 255 discrete voltage levels.
    Address: Set the starting address to the first in a group of 8 or 24. Start with address 1 up to 512.
    When using the mini DIP switch, the address in entered in the standard binary cobe starting with 0.
    Power requirements: 14.5 to 18 volts AC or DC @ 350 mA.
    Board connections: All connections to the board are made via micro screw terminal blocks. Acceptable wire size is 20 - 30 AWG. See drawing for connector locations.
    All IC chips are in sockets for easy replacement.
    Green Signal LED: If the green LED is blinking, there is no valid signal present.
    If the LED is on, but dim, try to reverse the DMX signal wires. A valid signal will produce a steady bright LED.
    Switch MountingThe BCD pushbutton address switch is a snap fit for a panel up to .13" thick. Connect to board via 14 pin ribbon cable.
