Friday June 1, 2007

• There were 10 players in the Golf Tournament at the Soule Park Golf Course. Thanks to Stan Coburn for organizing this event, which he also won.

• There were 46 people from the class of 1967 and a total of 60 people at the Ice Breaker on the patio ouside the Soule Park Golf Course Clubhouse and Bar. Besides the no-host bar, there were snacks including nostalgic mighty bites, nuts, and chocolate along with a bubble machine. The second page from the Ice Breaker includes a number of portraits.

• Coach Fred Linkenhelt invited the basketball team, family, and friends to a no-host buffet CIF Reunion Basketball Breakfast at the Soule Park Golf Course Clubhouse to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our 1967 CIF basketball champions. Thanks to Stan and Mikki Coburn for helping to organize this event.

• In the afternoon, we gathered at (new) Nordhoff High School for the Passions, Obsessions, Interests, Causes, and Accomplishments Lawn Party. We tried but still have not determined the location of the 9th grade time capsule. even though Bill Brown brought a metal detector. We toured the gym and other campus buildings.

• There were over 70 people at the Festive Blue & Gold Reunion Dinner Party at the Soule Park Golf Course Clubhouse.

• By popular request, the final event was a ride on Dave Wilkinson's Fillmore and Western Railway. We had a private train driven by Dave's son Andy from the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot in Santa Paula to Piru and back with a buffet lunch, '60s music, and entertainment. There were 30 people from the class of 1967 and a total of 50 people on the train.

  Dale, the food services manager, added a page to the Fillmore and Western Railway web site for our Sentimental Journey Train Ride . As you can see from the photos, most of us wore our new Nordhoff Rangers '67 T-shirts.
