The Piedmont Quality of Life
Coalition is an organization
of concerned citizens dedicated
to protecting the quality of life
and the health, safety and
well-being of all citizens in the
Piedmont Triad area of
North Carolina. The PQLC
is a volunteer, non-member,
non-profit organization based
in Guilford County, NC.
| The current concern of the
Piedmont Quality of Life Coalition is the threat to the environment and health of citizens posed by the proposed FedEx
cargo hub. If a nighttime air cargo
operation is allowed to be built in Guilford County,
many established, beautiful neighborhoods in the Northwest part of the county will be endangered. In addition, all of Guilford County will bear not only much of the financial cost of the $80,000,000 minimum in tax incentives given to this $16 billion corporation, but the consequences of AIR POLLUTION, WATER POLLUTION and reduced water supply, NOISE, light pollution at night, increased traffic and SAFETY concerns. The PQLC believes that a nighttime air cargo operation does not belong in densely populated Guilford County.
