When Nancy was 6 or 7, her biological brothers, Paul and Arthur, were placed in the same foster home with Kimberly. This foster home was one block from my cousin's home, where we spent a great deal of time, as well as half way between our home and my friend's home, where we also spent a great deal of time.
One day, my friend's son came home with a new friend. My friend, Janet, overheard a conversation between the 2 boys. As she listened, she said to herself, "This new boy has to be Nancy's brother." Janet called me on the telephone, as soon as the new boy went home. Janet told me what was said in the conversation. Then I agreed, this boy had to be Nancy's oldest brother, Paul. The next morning, I called Nancy's social worker and demanded she tell me if this boy was Nancy's brother. The social worker said yes. She said Nancy's other brother, Arthur, was also in the foster home, as well as her little sister, Kimberly.
I insisted a meeting be set up so Nancy could see her siblings. I said Nancy needed to know they were all alive and well. After awhile, a meeting was set up between Nancy, Paul and Arthur at the McDonald's on Route 1 in Saugus, Massachusetts. After this initial meeting the children, including Kimberly, visited regularly until we left the state of Massachusetts. After we moved, Nancy and Arthur maintained contact through phone calls and letters.
The following pictures were taken by the
boys foster mother. After the meeting was over, she made copies of
the pictures for Nancy. She gave the pictures to me so she would
not lose them. I did not realize, at the time, how much Nancy glowed
all through that meeting. Paul and Arthur also look very happy in
the pictures. I have blanked out Arthur's face to protect his identity.

I think she was just glowing.
