ARTHUR LACKEY

I knew very little about Nancy's biological father.  Social workers told me Nancy's biological father was Arthur Lackey.  He was the father of Arthur and Nancy.  Arthur Lackey was described as a kind and gentle person.  I was told he treated Paul the same as he treated Arthur.

Social workers told me Arthur Lackey was very unhappy with the way his wife, Marie Leona (Lee) Lackey, cared for Paul and Arthur.  For this reason, and others I am sure, he left the home.  I was not told how long he was gone.  However, I was told he returned, for the children's sake, to try to make the marriage work.  After being back in the home for a short amount of time, he found out his wife was again pregnant.  The social workers told me, Arthur Lackey was very angry about this pregnancy, since he did not feel his wife took proper care of the two children she already had.  Therefore, he left the home again.  Permanently this time.

Arthur Lackey, at some point, divorced Marie Leona (Lee) Lackey.  He later remarried and raised another family.  He died of natural causes while we lived in Colorado, 1981 - 1985.  After he died, Massachusetts social services notified me of his death.  I informed Nancy.  She had never known him, but she felt sad.
