One of the advantages of being in the North East is the possibility
of getting a cold and snowy winter. Hence, the
chance for some nice winter activities, including skiing, sledding,
and just playing in the snow.
One the key points of the 2002 winter season(s) was Kerry finally joining
the 80s (or was it the 90s) and getting a
"modern" ski jacket and bib. Previously, his .... outfit was
... a bit ... unique. In fact one of his friends once described
him as looking like a "homeless goat while skiing". Thus, in
late December 2001 he finally broke down
and got a new "outfit". The below pictures show the first couple
of times he used it (at Blue Mountain in
the Poconos in Pennsylvania).

Once again we took a family ski trip up to Stratton Vermont in March.
Below shows a picture of Becky, Tommy and Kari taking a lesson:

We also had a very heavy snow right after Thanksgiving 2002 and it gave
us a great opportunity to head out
to the local sledding hill:

We also had the first White Christmas here in NJ, since we got
up her (1986). In fact I was told that it the first white Christmas
in
30 years. We've had snows before Christmas, but the snow always
seems to be gone by Christmas day, and one year we had
a very nice snow the day AFTER Christmas. However, Christmas
of 2002 will be remembered as a WHITE Christmas. Below
are some shots taken on Christmas day and the day after.

And of course what set of winter activities would be complete without
a "snow-llama":
