we all have some predictable qualities... and we all use this to influence and sometimes manipulate others so we can get what we want... that's business, that's life... and that's relationships... and probably the biggest reason I am taking a break from partnering at the moment... it's too easy to get sucked into a tit for tat struggle for power at times... I spent the last year focused primarily on survival, but in what few moments I had to think I focused on how I may manipulate others and how others manipulate me... I think much of the interaction we have with others is habit and subconscious...

I was just talking about this with my roommate in regard to people we've each known in this life... he is much like I was in his trusting and giving nature and has had similar experiences... he's still learning how to say no... all this to say I think I've learned a lot by taking a break and changing my perspective... it is easier now for me to see people who would take advantage of me and draw a line with them (just did it today in offline life)... and it is easier to accept people who don't grow or learn thinking it's job to save them or teach them something... just a few of the things I've learned while I was away :)

when I get a grown-up computer I will look into one of the Usenet dedicated servers or Web-based sites... for now, I use what I've got due to lack of drive space... thanks for the suggestions :)

honest love, ric (still learning :)
