something about perception came to mind here...
I will use the first person pronoun to try to avoid pointing at others...
if I am accused of something
is the perception I am guilty?
if I respond in my defense
is the perception that I must have something to hide
because I am defensive?
if I ignore the accusation
is the perception that I must have something to hide
because I avoid confrontation?
if I become upset with the accuser
is the perception that I must have done something wrong
because I took it personally?
if I ignore the accusation
is the perception that I do not care?
if I respond to the accusation
is the perception that my conscience is not clear?
seems to me that each one of the above possible perceptions
is assuming the negative
do we all do that?
why don't I allow for the best?
and therein judge you based on what you do
instead of judging you based on what you are not doing?
why don't I allow for the best?

instead of judging you based on who someone says you are?
