if you only knew
what I am going through
you wouldn't want to cry
you'd let me die
if you only knew
if you believed it true
you would just look away
no words to say

I was listening to a country station today
and a song came on that 'bout blew me away
a guy named Mark Wells sang it right on key
and he made me cry when he sang...
"don't laugh at me"...
and then Garth Brooks sang a slow one
and by the time the song was done
I was lost in the dreams I used to dream of
cuz I too would do anything...
"to make you feel my love"...
and then as I am writing this
another song I almost missed
it's about a girl I'm dreaming of
"she'd give anything to fall in love"...
why are I hearing hopeful songs
when everything in life's going wrong?
why am I feeling so much tonight
when all I have are these words I write?
I am a dreamer, I am a fool
I just got tired of playing it cool
I'll die anyway someday so I'll live
giving it everything I've got to give
and if it kills me before I find my love
I lived and died for what I dreamed of
if I die before my dream comes true
I know I did the best I can do
with a heart that is true
at least I wasn't cruel...
