A Simple Little Dream

January 3, 2000

written as a thank you for all the support I received from people I've met in alt.support.loneliness and especially for the welcome I received in the group and in my mail in response to my holiday post... you inspire me... so this silly happy babbler came up with this... my dream for a.s.l...

this is what it means to have friends
how many years has it been?
many for some, days for others
still I feel your sisters and brothers

this is what it means to have friends
knowing you don't have to pretend
feeling comfortable in your heart
next to me or miles apart

this is what it means to have friends
knowing there's nothing to defend
trusting that we mean no harm
even if we set off an alarm

this is what it means to be friends
and on this I'd like to depend
so when I come here I can release
everything inside me to find peace

if I am angry
I can rage
if I am babbling
here's another page
if I am happy
I can smile
and I can even talk
like Gomer Pyle

goawlllllleeey :)

is I am sleepy
I can sleep
if I am heavy
I can get deep
if I am hurting
I can cry
if I am frightened
I can ask why

and if I am lonely
I can find friends
and as I am writing
loneliness ends
and as I am reading
I can find friends
and as I am reading
loneliness ends

this is what it means to have friends
feeling like the love never ends
now knowing the comfort that friends can reap
I shall roll over and fall asleep

guess I just had to say thank you in my own wierd way after all :)

honest love, ric
