QUESTIONING

January 6, 2000

Editor's Note: the person responding to my poem chose to delete it before sending the questions about my beliefs and character below... a link to the complete poem snipped can be found below, in case you're wondering about the reasons for the questions as I do :)

I think if you snip words, then you should not try to interpret them... I do appreciate you asking, at least at first...

poetry is not always an accurate description of the authors personality... the source for this particular one reflects a zen philosophy I was exploring and was inspired by the "Random analeptic tweezer" post by OTS... the line closest to my personality is "I just want to make it through the night without a fight"... overall, I do not believe in juging others, especially when I have never met them and do not know anything real about them...

>Hmmm...in essence, are you saying you have no convictions about
>anything ?

no, my ideals are posted on my webpages...

>You believe in nothing ?

no, I've posted many times that I believe in love, among other ideals...

> There is no absolute right or wrong....only that which
>oneself might perceive as right or wrong ?
>
perhaps, everything very well may be an illusion... I suggest reading Richard Bach...

>Whatever makes you happy, do it
>
yes

>.... regardless of how it might affect anyone else ?
>
no, you should always consider another's feelings before you do or say or write or ask anything, especially in a public place...

>A person should be so self-absorbed with themself that they don't
>care what anyone else says or does?
>
no, I am curious to hear where you read this in the words I wrote...

>That people should always wear blinders ?
>
no, again, where in my words did you read this suggestion?

>I do not judge others....
>

>but I do point out when I believe they are wrong.
>
you have every right to do as you please...

>If they show me that I was wrong, then I have the integrity to
>admit it.
>
I think that depends on who shows it and how it is shown...

>For everything that you might have done wrong....I'm sure I could
>match it with something that I've done wrong.
>
why focus so much energy on the negative?...

>None of us are perfect.....
>
agreed

>but we should not and cannot walk around blind and oblivious
>to all that is going on around us.
>
agreed

>Just stating my opinion....and trying to understand.
>
>
ok...

towards moving forward, honest love, ric
