A couple of months back Adema was scheduled to play in our hometown, but had to cancel due to heatstroke of lead singer, Mark "Marky" Chavez. Fortunately they decided to reschedule their performance so Earl had one more shot. Sterling was going to go try for an autograph; he even got a picture ready, but at the last minute dropped out. So it was just lil' old me for this autograph hunt.
When I woke up in the morning to go it was raining very bad and I knew it wouldn't be a good condition to try and get autographs. The rain factor started to derail my intentions of even trying to meet Adema. I guess the rain was no match for my determination because I decided to fight the weather and headed to the venue. When I arrived Newt (fellow autograph hunter) was already there and said that Tim Fluckey (guitars) and Kris Kohls (drummer) had already signed and were in the bus. I wasn't worried about missing them because there was still plenty of time before the show started to meet them.
Eventually Tim came down and graciously signed for me and was a really nice guy. Unfortunately I forgot to get a picture with him so I hoped this wouldn't be the last time we crossed paths. Another autograph friend, Ghost, showed up as well and hung out and waited for autographs, it's always nice to have more company.
Then we spotted Dave Deroo (bass) coming up the street with his girlfriend. He was fortunately distracted and slowed down by a fan that had drawn pictures of him. While he was distracted Ghost got Tim's autograph and I also asked for a picture with the tall one. Tim called over to Dave and soon Dave jumped in for a picture with me, which was cool. Tim left, but Dave stayed behind and signed for us. He was really friendly and we talked with him a bit.
The Newt missed all of this action because he was on the other side of the building and was so mad that he missed meeting Dave. Newt wouldn't have to wait long because Tim, Dave, Kris Kohls (drums), and lead singer Mark Chavez came out of the bus to go get a bite to eat. We stopped them and I was able to get Kris and Mark to put pen to paper. There were also quite a few groupies out this particular day and they all left when they finally got to meet Mark, but the only thing he gave them was a hug (because he has a girlfriend). Mark was a cool guy as well and before taking off I got a picture with him as well.
Now all we needed was Mike Ransom (guitars) to come out and sign. Getting all of these autographs didn't take more than 30 minutes and everything was going along smoothly. Unfortunately Ghost had to finally leave and gave up his hopes of meeting Mike. After another 30 minutes passed Mike finally appeared and we were able to get his autograph. He was with his girlfriend (or wife?) and was in a bit of a rush, but still made time to sign. We were both glad and left with all of Adema's autographs.
