This is another story from Lee,

Oasis Celebrity Encounter

We have encountered Oasis many, many times.Everytime we see them they have always been signing and talking to the fans.I have attached a pic 4 you when we met up with Liam unexpected at a airport, my girlfriend and me were flying out at the time.

I haven't got a photo with Noel but i ve attached the autograph for you to view.Noel went to see a preview of JACKIE BROWN.We chased after him afterwards (didn't have to go far) into a bar.Very chatty (wish i asked 4 a pic with then) .He thought the film was SHIT.But he was very nice. This was way back in 1999 but we have friends that got him this year and said he couldn't have been any nicer. The autograph I scanned 4 you is when we got him there.I have WHATS THE STORY MORNING GLORY album signed but he just wrote NOEL.This was because there was a lot of people there at the time at another event.

Somewhere in our library we do have some pics of Noel we have taken over the years, but there's too many to go through. If I come across 1 i'll scan it through to you. If you meet Liam get the autograph to name as (if your lucky) he writes LIVE FOREVER which is so cool.

The other band members are really nice but they like to stay out of the lime light. The best time to get them is when they are touring.

After hearing that Lee has met so many celebs we just had to ask if he had met Oasis (Sterling's Favorite Band) and sure enough he had a story for us, thank you so much! Look forward to hearing more celebrity encounters from you in the near future! -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Lee,

Natalie Portman Celebrity Encounter

My girlfriend where she works had run into a film site.(V for vendetta). She rang me to tell me and i left work, got home, picked up a pic (not star wars) of Natalie and went out.Now we all knew that Natalie was difficult even with not signing star wars so this was a one off chance.

I was on the train when she rang and said that one of THE WACHOWSKIS BROTHERS, who directed THE MATRIX of one of them is here.I am a massive fan of this movie and have met all the cast (another time).
I got a phone call and they moved the film set at the back of ST Pauls cathedral. I eventually got there at last and there was Natalie in the middle of the road waiting to film. She was wearing the costume that you see in the movie.

Hugo Weaving was not on the film set (got him anyway).I spotted both of the directors straight away and got both of them. There was my girlfriend and 3 other collectors (luckly 2 were friends)Natalie suddenly finished filming and she went to her directors chair but a bodyguard got in the way and stopped us.So we waited across the road watching her and edged towards her opposite. As eager and happy (as i got the wachowskis) i got Natalie's eye view and she called us over. She was very pleasent and we all got one to name (we asked to name as when it's one of favourites) and the i said "would there be any chance that i could have a pic with you".
To my surprise she said "sure" and we all got one.. We thanked her and got on our way..When we got home my girlfriend found out it was her Birthday (thats why we reckon she was in a good mood).

It sure sounds like you lucked out, LUCKY!! We've heard that she can be a hard autograph to get, so good for you. Both of us also appreciate the picture scan, really cool. Thank you for stopping by the site and sending in this great story -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Robert,

Aly and AJ Celebrity Encounter

I got to the venue at 2:15. Joe and Nick from the Jonas Brothers walked about 30 minutes I had them sign index cards. They are very nice people. We intriduced themselves and they said thanks for asking for our autographs. They are very nice people.

I waited about another 30 minutes and Nick from the Jonas Brothers walked by. I asked him to sign, but he just kept walking. The guy he was with said he didn't have time to sign. Fianlly at about 3:30 I saw another bus pull in. Sure enough, Aly and AJ got out of the bus. I went up to them and asked them to sign, but they said they were already late and didn't have time. They both apologized and I told them no problem. The concert didn't start until 7:30, so I had another 3 hours for the doors to open.

I asked the guy in charge of promotions if he had any extra backstage passes, but he said 20 were alrady given out through radio station promotions and that he didn't have any left. I didn't have a good felling after that about getting the opportunity to meet Aly AJ. I waited about another hour and half in 100 plus degree humid heat. The Jonas Brothers walked back and forth many times, but there was no sign of Aly and AJ.

At about 5:00 a guy came up to me and aked me what I wanted the girls to sign. I said I had a bunch of stuff and he said give me your book (I had all the stuff I wanted to get signed on photo corners in a binder) and I will get your items signed for you. About 10 minutes passed and he came out. He said that they didn't have time to sign everything, but they did sign a few items. The autographs came out very nice because I gave the guy a brand new black sharpie. I got a total of 7 autographs. That for sure made my day.

I then waited another hour for the doors to open. I had greats seats in the third row. The conceret was awesome. The Jonas Brothers were ok. I thought they adlibbed through their songs. All of their songs sounded the same like they do on their website. The security guard wasn't really too strict about cameras. After the first Aly and AJ song, many people stormed to the front row. It took about three more songs for the security guards to get everyone back to their seats. Since the security guards were busy with that, I had time to take pictures since they weren't paying attention. The sound was awesome. You have to experience an Aly and AJ concert to know what I mean. I loved the part of Sticks and Stones when they played the bongos. The fans were loud, but they weren't crazy. Many fans in the section that I was in were sitting sat down throughout the whole concert and were surprislingly older (like myself).

After the concert I found the guy who got me the autographs and asked him if there was going to be a meet and greet. He said that all of the slots were already filled up. I asked him if there was room for one more person and I really wanted to get a picture with them. He said wait here. After after 5 mintues he said follow me and directed me back inside the theater with 4 other older fans (19-22). I then asked the guy what his title was. He said he was their bodyguard. For a bodyguard, I thought he was a very nice guy.

Aly and AJ Autographs

After about another 5 mintues, they said they were going to start the meet and great. They said that they were going to start with the last row and the first 5 people. The other 4 people people and I were the first people to meet ALY and AJ. It was a surreal experience to me. I was basically speechless. We all got to introduce ourselves, had a chance to hug them, and had a photo opportunity. I had them sign 2 more photos and my ticket and thanked them for signing my other items before the show. They said no problem.

I ended up with a total of 10 autographs. I will post scans later. I just have to say that I was more than thrilled with the outcome of the concert. Being at the venue early helped and knowing the body guard was very beneficial. I think the key to getting a backstage pass is to get to the venue early (even if it means 5 and a half hours before the concert). If you do that, you are almost guaranteed to get an autograph and a backstage pass.

I also have to say that Aly AJ had a lot of energy. I don't know where they get all of their energy, considering that they were in New York the day before and the two hour time change. Aly and AJ are awesome performers and more importantly nice people. They really do care about their fans. Nobody says that they have to do a meet and greet after the show; it it their choice to do that. I will never forget this night and I will never forget meeting Aly and AJ.

What a cool story, we're so glad that you actually got to meet Aly and AJ at the end of your adventure. Your tip of getting to the concert early is also spot on, because soundchecks are a great time to ask for autographs. You also lucked out with the amount of autographs that they signed for you, very nice of them. Thanks for writing this story and for sending in scans from the encounter as well! -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Scott,

I have a slightly different perspective than many of the people who have written you. I am a performer myself (though not a celebrity by any means) as well as working on touring rock shows and live theatre. Still, I thought I would give you a list of the stars I have met who I would rank as Pros, versus the amateurs, and some comments as to why I rank them so. In some cases, for example Madonna, or Keith Urban, while I may not personally like the music, I recognize both the talent and the rapport.

Among the pros are;
Madonna; 2 hours of rehearsal before every show; talks to her dancers and the crew, and thanks everyone around. Bruce Springsteen; shakes hands with anyone he passes; very approachable to the fans. Clarence Clemmons; just like "the Boss".... except that Clarence is REALLY big! Reba McIntyre; performed her entire show just days after breaking her ankle, from a rolling chair and on crutches. Brooks and Dunn; don't try to party with these guys, you won't last. They love their fans. Panic! At the Disco; these guys are nuts. And very fan-friendly.

Metallica; will spend hours with fans. Literally. Go home! We want to put your stuff away now! Please? Sigh..... Ozzie Osborne; if you can get past his handlers, he'll talk your ear off. Loves his crew. Cher; very interactive with her audience. Spent several minutes with two little girls who brought flowers. David Bowie; shook hands with each and every person back stage. It just doesn't get any better. Oksana Baiul; will talk to anyone at length, as long as she wasn't about to compete. Then she was very focused. Michelle Kwan; even more focused than Oksana, but very pleasant afterwards. Signed autographs until dragged away. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill; very easy to work with and for, very friendly people. Faith rehearses until it's right. Gwen Stefani; too cute to be this nice and this talented. Something just isn't fair.

Avril Lavigne; Well, I can't make the same comment I just made for Gwen.... or can I? Fiona Apple; I didn't see her with fans, and she looks unapproachable, but she really isn't. Shares cookies. Yay! Carlos Santana; offered to go get me a latte because he was going to walk to Starbucks. How much cooler can you get? Greg Proops; Spent 20 minutes after a show talking to a pair of college kids who wanted to do stand-up. One of the best. Drew Carey; very much the Everyman of stand-up. He would sign for hours and chat and joke, if he wasn't pulled away.

There are many others who interact well with the fans, or who interact with the crew as well, these are just the ones that have stood out for me. Cher went so far as to crouch down, while still singing, and wait for the two 5 or 6 year old girls to get brave enough to actually hand her the flowers. She gave them each sailor hats, the one she was wearing and one from a dancer.

Now, for the amateurs;
Barbra Streisand; the worst. Period. The list of things I saw is too long to even abbreviate. She sucks. Depeche Mode; I love this band. Tell me to turn my back when you come off stage and not make eye contact? Dorks. Garth Brooks; fans by invitation only, and blown off twice. Crew not allowed to watch the show. Big change from his start. Britney Spears; Sprained ankle causes cancellation of 5 months of shows. Huh? And no rescheduled dates. Prince; pffft. Talented, OK. Personable? Nope. And eccentric enough to make Howard Hughes look pedestrian. Nancy Kerrigan AND her coaches; Made me think maybe Tonya Harding wasn't a bad person after all. You have fans?

There are a few others I have seen that seem oblivious or removed from the people who make their shows possible and impressive, but for the most part they have not acted as though they thought they were demigods amongst swine.

I know just how important it is that the tech crew get things done right. For that very reason I make sure I thank them, to let them know I don't live in a mental bubble. Even Eric Clapton would look and sound crappy if it wasn't for the lighting, sound, stage and guitar techs. Think he has time to re-tune each guitar during a gig? Part of doing a good job as a performer is not having to think about the technical aspects going on around; nothing exists but the performance. For an actor it is even more critical that all of the staging etc. is transparent. So when you get to stand out there and bow, it is in large part due to all those invisible hands. We had one performer (who insists on anonymity) who baked birthday cakes herself for three people who had birthdays during a run.

Scott thank you very much for this different perspective on celebrity encounters, it was very interesting! Thanks for taking the time to write this and send it in. -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Eric,

Dear gentlemen,

I would like to share with you the encounter I had with former major league baseball player and shunned hall of fame candidate PETE ROSE.

It happened when i was 7 years old (around 1979). I was with my parents and my grandmother at Del Mar race track watching the races from the club house dining room. My dad leans over and asked me if i know who that was pointing to a table about 20 feet from ours. He said it was Pete Rose. I had recently started playing little league baseball (played first base) and of course i immediately recognized the name and the person. He give me a dollar bill and tells be to go and ask him for his autograph. I was reluctant at first but about 10 minutes later i mustered up the courage to go over to his table. He was sitting with a woman whom i guess was his wife. I reach his table and say to him "Mr. Rose could i have your autograph, i play first base and want to be pro baseball player like you." Now at this time in my life i was a little chubby (biggest one on my team actually) He takes the dollar bill from my, signs it, hands it back to me and says "If you want to be a baseball player you better lose this" and pokes my stomach !! At the time I really thought nothing of it so i went back to my table. My parents asked me what he said and i told them. They were not happy to say the least. As i got older i realized how crappy that was of him to say that to me. I mean for god sake i was 7 years old! What kind of a person would say that to a kid, especially somebody of his stature?

In short I'm glad that A-hole didnt get into the Hall of Fame. Serves him right.

Thanks for your time.

Eric Boyd

Wow that really was a horrible thing to say to a kid, unbelievable! This could've been one of the happiest days of your life as a young baseball player, too bad it had to be marred by such a comment -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Cheryl,

I recently had my encounter with the great Drake Hogestyn. You were so right about how at ease he makes his fans. He has been my hero since he arrived in Salem 20 years ago. He made me feel so happy to be with him and relaxed even though I was very nervous about meeting a mega star. He also told me he appreciated me as a teacher because we are the "backbone of society" and he appreciated the job as a whole. I had several pictures taken with him that made me even happier to bring home and share with my friends. Hats off to a great actor who takes the time to know who his fans are and that they really care about him as he does us.

It's no surprise to us that Drake is still showing his fans some love. He is also so right about teachers, you truly are the backbone of society! Thank you for sending this in -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Larry,

Hi,

First I loved reading your stories - it's really interesting to me how some celebrities seem to appreciate their fans and others shun the very people who made them rich. Ah well, to those of us who don't know the agonies of celebrity, it's probably harder for us to understand.

Many of my meetings have been positive. A few were not.

Several years ago when I was in college, Rod McKuen, the best selling poet, came to Indiana University to do a show. It was extremely cold outside but he very graciously stood outside the stage door and signed hundreds of autographs, and would have posed for photos if only I'd had a camera with me. He was exceptionally warm and appreciative of his fans.

When I lived in NY City, of course I saw my share of celebrities but often from a distance. One morning, however, I was on my way home from a friend's apartment and I saw a familiar face across the street. He was signing something for a woman and then he headed my way. It was Rick Moranis. We were both waiting on the light so we could cross and I spoke to him. He smiled and said hello. I didn't have anything with me for him to sign, but I know he would have. In fact, he kept a conversation going with me until he got to the building he was headed to. Again, a great guy who was very down to earth and friendly.

I worked with Crystal Gayle's sister in law and was able to get backstage passes for one of her shows. I was allowed to stay long after the others had gone, in fact - I was told it was ok to stay until she actually left the building. She posed for pictures, signed a photo for me, and was extremely friendly. Her husband was also very nice and accommodating.

I was actually invited on Tanya Tucker's tour bus for a meet and greet. Her road manager was amazing, and Tanya was sweet, kind, signed a CD and posed for a photo not only with me but with the friend who accompanied me.

Another NY City story involved the former anchor of Good Morning America, David Hartman. He was arrogant and quite rude when a couple of people asked if he'd sign as he exited a movie theater with a group of three other people. I didn't bother. In fact, he gave me a look that was very clearly "Don't come any closer." I was surprised because I'd heard he was a nicer fellow.

Bette Midler was also a great lady when I saw her near Bergdorf's in Manhattan. Once again, I didn't have anything that she could sign but when I told her that I truly appreciated her work, she smiled that famous smile and her sincerity as she thanked me was evident.

One of my favorite celebrities is Janis Ian, whose "At Seventeen" is perhaps her best known song, but her albums continue to sell (as they should - her talent is amazing). Not only was she warm and appreciative of her fans after a show I attended in Ohio, she very willingly posed with fans and chatted with them. She gets an A+ in my book.

I worked at a hotel in Illinois for a while where many celebrities stayed. Tommy Smothers was great and signed my friend's newspaper when he went to the hotel gift shop.

Train took time to sign a CD sleeve for me and posed for photos. Nice, funny guys.

Vicki Lawrence was also gracious and signed several autographs as she was leaving to perform a show locally.

I know I'm leaving some stories out, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind. I'll share others sometime.

Larry

We're so glad that most of your encounters have been positive. The very first time we were turned down for an autograph we were shocked and left in disbelief. We were really young at the time and are still continually surprised .Thanks again for the stories -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Dave,

I recently had the opportunity to meet some of the New York Giants. The event was featuring Michael Strahan with a couple of others. I got Gibril Wilson's autograph, Tim Carter, Will Allen, Reggie Torbor, Antonio Pierce, and Howard Cross's autograph. I was thrilled to have these, but I was really there to get Michael Strahan's signature.

So as I'm leaving the other player's signing area, I notice that the line for Michael to sign isn't that long. As I'm about to reach the security guard, a guy walking toward me says that no one else is allowed on the line. They cut the line short because Michael had an appointment. I WAS CRUSHED! I've looked up to this guy since he was drafted in 1993. So I had an idea.

I called my friend on his cell phone who was already on the line with his 6 year old son. I asked him if he could hook me up with a signature. He said he couldn't because he had a football to sign, his son had a football to sign, and there was only one item per person. OH NO! What in the world was I going to do? So crushed and defeated I walked over to where Michael was and stood outside of the barriers. I took some pictures, at least I got those.

Suddenly my luck started to change. A guy behind me left his jacket inside the roped off area where Michael was. I slyly asked him if he wanted me to get it for him, and he said yes. YES! This meant that I was finally inside the ropes, and at the same time had managed to cut about 45 people. It just so happens at the same time, my friend was right in front of me. I handed him my football, and he took it. Now since he already had his two footballs signed, how was he going to give it to Michael's security for him to sign without them noticing? He took the ball and gave it to security behind his back so that security thought it was from the person behind him. You see the line was going so fast and being so rushed, that security thought it was from the person behind my friend. I then watched Michael Strahan take my football, and sign away. He didn't know who to give it too, when he was done, and my friend quick snatched it away, and handed it through the crowd to me. I was so happy I hugged him. I got what I came for. I am new at autograph collecting, but wow what a rush you get from it, especially when your hero is standing right in front of you. Hope you liked the story, Dave

Hey Dave, we did enjoy reading your story. It's great to hear fans like you finally getting a chance to meet a hero. We also get a rush when getting autographs, it truly is a wonderful thing. Since your new at this autograph thing, I'm sure you have many more awesome encounters ahead of you, keep us informed -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Kristen,

I noticed someone asked about Star Wars cast autographs. My husband is a HUGE fan and has dragged me around to different events and we've gotten some autographs, so I thought I'd fill you in.

The biggest name is Carrie Fisher. We met her at Star Wars Celebration II a few years ago. She was set up in her own room, with a line of people miles long out the door and around the convention center. Somehow we got in. She was all business--take item, sign, push away; take next item, sign, push away. She never looked up at anyone, but then again, no one was talking to her. She spent some time talking to a person in a wheelchair who looked like they had been badly injured. When it was our turn, I stepped up and asked her how she was doing. She finally looked up and sort of smirked and said "Well, I'm pretty tired." She signed my item, then paused and asked "How are you?" I said, stupidly (!) "I'm probably more tired than you are. I had to get up early to get in line." I don't know what made me say it. Anyway, it completely pissed her off. She turned around to her posse and started swearing about needing a cigarette. She was swearing like a sailor. Meanwhile, my husband was mad at me because he was next in line and it looked like she wasn't going to sign his item! Her crew finally convinced her to sign a few more, so she grabbed a pen and tried signing my husband's action figure, but the pen didn't work, so she shook it and shook it with the cap off, causing drops of silver to splash all over my husband's shirt. Absolutely no photos allowed. So, she was okay, just be careful what you say to her!

Billy Dee Williams: My husband got in line at Celebration II for his autograph. He appeared to be hungover (there were rumors that he and Carrie Fisher and spent most of the previous night in the hotel bar) and was not friendly. Like Carrie, he took the item, signed it, and moved on to the next one. He didn't say much to the fans and didn't pose for photos.

David Prowse plays the man behind the Darth Vader costume. He was fantastic. We also met him at Celebration II. I got in the short line to get his autograph. He was chatting briefly with everyone and posing for photos. When it was my turn, we started chatting about Star Wars, England, random stuff. He was funny and nice, and even invited me to tea at his gym the next time I was in England! His assistant was getting pretty perturbed and kept trying to get me to move along. No way! If Dave Prowse wants to talk to me, let him! He was a really great guy and seems to be great to Star Wars fans.

Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) is extremely tall and walks just like Chewbacca (I mean, obviously since he is Chewie, but he didn't change his walk to play the part. That's just his usual way of walking). Met him at one of the Star Wars Weekends at Disney/MGM park in Orlando. The Disney people really kept the line moving, but Peter spent a little time chatting and taking photos. He was quiet, but nice.

Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok) was very nice, though he seemed tired when we met him. He was also at Disney/MGM. There was a long line for him, but he made it through everyone and talked and took photos with everyone. My parents were with us and he put up with them taking photo after photo after photo and making my husband get in and out of photos! He smiled through it all and didn't seem to mind.

Kenny Baker (the man inside R2D2) is also very nice. We met him at Disney/MGM and his wife was there, too. Like the others, he chatted a lot and took lots of pictures. Was friendly. But as I recall, he left early.

Anthony Daniels (C3P0) is very very friendly, very funny, and really into Star Wars and the fans. We met him at Celebration II and at one point, he was even outside with the fans, entertaining them in line before the doors opened.

Andrew Secombe (Watto in The Phantom Menace) was also at Disney/MGM. Like the others, he chatted a lot and took lots of pictures. He even recorded a message on one guy's cell phone.

I think those are all the Star Wars people we've met. Mostly a good bunch, but we haven't met the "big" ones, like Harrison Ford, George Lucas, Mark Hamill, James Earl Jones, etc. Hopefully we will soon!

Good luck with your autographs,

Kristen

Thank you so much for answering the question about Star Wars autographs, sounds like both of you have some great autographs. We also loved what you said to Carrie Fisher, she's just mad because it is true! At least you had some great experiences with some of the others, especially David Prowse (really cool). Thanks for sending these stories in and visiting our site -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Eric,

I just want to start by saying I enjoy your site. I love reading about the celebrity encounters and which ones are still grounded in reality and which ones are too good for their fans. I recently had a chance to meet Drew Carey star of the Drew Carey show who is now on tour with a group of improv comics. They played at a local theater here in Pennsylvania and since I am a huge Drew fan I thought I would try to meet him and maybe get an autograph. He was scheduled for two shows one at 3 and one at 7. I got to the theater by 12 and waited.

I saw some luxury cars with tinted windows pull up and some of the comics got out but not Drew. One was Chip Epstein and Jeff Davis, I approached them and they took pictures with me and signed my photo. Then I waited with a couple other autograph seekers. About an hour and a half went by and the crowd for the show was beginning to gather and we thought Drew would walk right in because of such a huge mass of people. About 2:30 a huge red tour bus pulled up. I saw Kathy Kinney (Mimi from the Drew Carey show) walking down the steps. As she exited we yelled to her but she ignored us all and walking into the theater. Then a couple other comics walked off the bus and went right in. I missed a good portion of the crew and I was disappointed especially since I was also waiting for one of my favorite comics Greg Proops (a star on "Whose Line is It Anyway").

Then Mr. Carey walked off the bus, shook hands with the security guys and walked right over to the waiting fans. There were about 20 or more of us. He talked with us, joked around about the city and people waiting, signed autographs, and took pictures. He was so cool. After he was finished he that he had to go get miked up and ready for the show and he went in. As soon as he went in, none other than Greg Proops walked out carrying a cup of coffee. He took my sharpie and began signing like a fiend. My picture was a little flimsy so I say "Use my pack!" he said, "Good idea!" and he signed my picture that way. I got my picture with him then he went in with saying goodbye with a posh "Cheers!" After that everyone was in the theater.

I missed three of the key people on the tour however I got the main man himself Mr. Drew Carey. I went home and it was bothering me about missing the other people especially Kathy Kinney. So just out of interest I went back to the theater and waited for the other. I heard that Kathy Kinney was out and signed for everyone and that she was really nice, but she had gone back into the theater. So off the tour bus came two comics I didn't get previously and they were more than willing to sign. Then Drew came out again and I got another signature on an index card for my friend. Then I went home and came back about the time the show was ending. I had the picture of me with Drew and me with Greg.

So I waited and after the show Kathy Kinney was the first to emerge. She came over and signed for me and said "Were you here when we came in?" I said that I was, and she apologized for ignoring us, but she had to use the ladies room. She signed my picture and a couple index cards for my friends who couldn't make it. Then Drew came out with a couple other comics, and he began signing and he signed the picture of him and me together. Then Greg Proops signed the picture of him and me. It was a great outing I got a ton of autographs from these comic stars. It was a lot of fun and Drew Carey and all the comics on that tour are very carrying about their fans. There is no way anyone could possibly be disappointed by these guys, they were super nice and did whatever the fans asked of them. It was a great time. Hope you guys could catch them when and if they come your way!

Keep up the good work on the site. I look forward to hearing about James Taylor.

We keep hearing such great things about Drew Carey and it appears that he keeps good company. Such great successes and you sure did hit the jackpot! Thanks for your kind words and more importantly for sending us this great story, let us know about your future successes -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Shawn,

Hey there,

I've enjoyed reading your autograph stories. Well I had a recent, horrible encounter with the band Green Day I'd like to share. It happened 2 weeks ago and I'm still pissed about it. I attended the MTV Video Music Awards in Miami on August 28th, 2005 and after the show I was able to get backstage. Well while I was backstage I saw Tre and Mike sitting down, not doing anything. Being the huge Green Day fan that I was I approached Tre, greeted him nicely and asked if he would please sign an autograph for me. Well he smiled a huge grin like the joker and started babbling, "no speak english senor" every time I tried to speak. I thought he was just kidding around, but when I asked him again to sign he than started babbling "nope, I can't do it, can't do it, can't do it" like a broken record. What a retard!!! all the while with a huge dopey smile on his ugly face. Even after I mentioned all of their shows that I had been to he still kept acting like a childish idiot and refused to sign even though he wasn't doing anything else.

Well I got fed up with it and decided to walk over to Mike figuring I'd at least get an autograph from him..WRONG!! I approached mike, and asked nicely if he could please sign. His response: he grunted " If I use my arm to sign than I won't be able to wrap it around the ladies" When I tried again he just sat there completely ignoring me. What a stuck up jerk!! I never saw Billie Joe, so God knows if it would have been any different. I only asked Green Day to sign a damn piece of paper, it's not like it was an 8x10 for e-bay and they couldn't even do that. Green Day are such conceited losers, they don't understand that if not for their fans they would not have a penny. I was a Green Day fan, but now I despise them and will never listen to their music again. Burn in hell Green Day!!

I was so boiling with anger at the way they acted that I was going to curse them out, but I stopped myself at the last minute because if I had, than I would have gotten kicked out, and would not have had the opportunity to meet lots of other celebs who were backstage... who I DID end up getting autographs from such as Gwen Stefani and Paris Hilton, who were neither cool nor uncool, they simply scribbled their names real quickly as they were rushing by which is fine with me. Tony Hawk was nice. Other attending celebs who signed for me included Pamela Anderson, Hulk Hogan, Brooke Hogan, Bam Margera, Don Vito and the rest from Viva la Bam, Pat O'Brien, B5, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, Jim Jones, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Glen Rice, Vanessa Minillo, Damien Fahey, Stacy Kiebler, the Bravery, The Killers, Kill Hannah, Quincy Jones, RKelly, Christina Milian, Neptunes, Babyface, Brandy, Nick Cannon, Carson Daly, and Ice-T. Unfortunately cameras were not allowed in by anyone except media so I couldn't bring one. Grouchy, rude, and stuck up loser celebs who refused to sign were: Eddie Murphy, Mariah Carey, kanye West, Jessica Simpson, and Nelly.

-Shawn

Shawn, say it isn’t so... not Green Day!!! It really sucks to hear that they don't like signing for fans and being so hateful about it. We're probably going to have some Green Day run-ins ourselves pretty soon, thanks for the warning. Well we'll focus on the good, the successes, and all we can say is that you sure did luck out with all of the celebrities that you did meet at the VMA's (really cool). Thank you so much for sending this in and good luck in all your future encounters, keep us updated -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Josh,
Larry the Cable Guy Picture

On January 22, 2004 I had the best night of my life. My mom had gotten tickets for us to see Larry the Cable Guy, my favorite comedian, in concert at the Show-Me Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. I e-mailed Larry after getting the tickets because I heard he signs autographs afterwards. He wrote back and said he would be signing stuff, so I didn't worry much about geting to meet him, just living until that moment! He had a great show that night, as always.

Afterwards, it seemed like it took forever for the place to clear out and get back to the lobby where Larry would soon be. There was a big line down the stairway and I was at the bottom since I'm in a wheelchair.

Pretty soon, there he is with a bodyguard. I'm now just feet away from my favorite comedian. My mom asked a security person if I could meet him soon since it was a school night and I didn't have time to wait on everyone else. The guy was like, "Sure, he's next right after this guy." So I wheel up to the table and kinda hang there waiting on this guy's turn to be done and then...the greatest moment of my life. Larry kinda patted me on the arm and said, "Hey, brotha!" I couldn't say anything at all! Then that guy left and it was time for my autograph. He started signing and asked if I had heard the cd yet, which I had just bought! He did a lot of talking and I was kinda star struck. He was saying stuff like, "Thanks for comin' out here" and "Did you hear any jokes tonight you haven't heard before?" I'm very blesssed to have that moment in my life. I haven't been to a show since, but I bet he is still just as nice even though he has gotten mega famous since then!

Thank you so much for sending in this story about Larry the Cable Guy. We're glad that Larry didn't let you down and ended up making this one of the greatest moments of your life. We hope that Larry hasn't changed and guessing by the way you describe him, he probably hasn't. Thank you for stopping by and sending in a story and even a great photo-op, thanks -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Marcie,
David Lee Roth Picture

Today 6/24/05, David Lee Roth is perfoming in New Jersey, I live in the Midwest. I contemplated on whether I should fly out and see him or not, cause I need a Dave fix real bad. Obviously I did not, other wise I wouldn't be surfing the net. The upside is that I got to read about Earl's encounter with meeting DLR. I am 38 years old and have seen DLR in concert 19 times.

In 1999, when Dave was on tour in my area I seen him twice in Oklahoma, once in Kansas, and once in Texas, since everyone had convinced me that the world was going to end in 2000, I told my daughter she wouldn't be able to die happy if she never seen a Dave show, so I snuck her into a 21 club to see him, it really wasn't much of a sneak, my husband is a stagehand and we both had all access passes.

We spent most all day at the venue, and in the late afternoon I met a guy who just really stuck out, business suit and all, apparently he worked for Boeing and when he flew in heard that DLR was in concert that night, and came directly to the venue, well we got to talking and if there is something I can talk about it is DLR. Well this guy and I sit and talk until the sun goes down, then he says he is going to walk around, he comes back a little later, looking like he had been abducted by aliens, and I was like, what happened to you? And he says, he's back there, and I'm like who's back there? And he says David Lee Roth, well I've been chasing this guy for who knows how long and I've got a bag of stuff that if he is willing to sign anything from out of it I'll be a happy camper.

Well in the heat of the moment, low and behold I leave the backpack in the car. My daughter and I take off walking, and we see this guy, off in the corner of the parking lot with his hands in his pockets and a hat on, kicking at the ground, like he has lost something, well we get closer, and my daughter who doesn't really get starstruck, afterall her dad is a stagehand, she has seen tons of shows and has met lots of performers, basically shoves me into him and says that's him, so here I am face to face, with the man, the myth, the legend, the god, David Lee Roth, and no freakin' backpack of goodies that I've been hauling from show to show. So I'm like, hey, hows it goin'? Well I had just gotten a freshly inked tattoo of DLR's initials, the tribal ones from Your Filthy Little Mouth, on my ankle, so I say can I show you something?

And he says sure, well I show him my new tattoo, and he says, hey we've got ourselves a fan here, I had told him that I had talked to him before on Rockline, and he says, oh we know each other? And I'm like yeah, you probably know me better than I know myself and he asks if we would like to get something signed, well we both had on DLR shirts, so we were like sure, well he kneels down in front of me and begins to autograph my shirt, and in my head I can hear myself say, I've waited a long time to have you in that position, and all of a sudden I can see myself like I'm floating and looking down, it took me a few seconds to realize I was having an out of body experience, I understood why the Boeing guy came back looking so freaked out. So we get our autographs, and he looks at our passes, and says are you guys, sure you can get in with these, and we're like yeah, well he leans towards me like he was going to tell me something, I probably thought he was going to whisper the secret of the universe to me or something, instead he kisses me on the cheek, and says enjoy the show. Well I had always told my daughter that I would someday be within smelling distance of that guy, and later on she said, okay, I seen you all sniffin' him when he kissed you, of course she was like so what did he smell like, and I said it was the most comforting scent I ever smelled, this jacket he had on had a leather collar, and I guess he had just had a shower, because he smelled like a cross between, leather and soap.

In 2001 I had taken a bus to Albuquerque, the original plan was to drive there, but like I said my husband the stagehand is the hardest person in the world to make plans with, because you never know when a one or two day gig will turn into a tour or something, so I'm all jazzed up to go see Dave, and hubby has to work so I end up taking a bus to New Mexico, that was like a 12 hour bus ride, it was at a casino, and come to find out "Mr. Roth" has all the shuttles booked, so after the show I can't leave, my intention was go to the show, rock out, get a hotel room, get back on the bus at 6:a.m., well since I'm stuck there at the casino, I figure I will just wait, and see if I can get an autograph, well it took forever for him to come out, the crowd dwindled down to only myself and two other people, who I had been talking to, they rushed him into this waiting vehicle so quickly, and these other two people just shoved their way through and his options were slam the door on their arms or sign their ticket stubs, well he signs their stuff and security slams the door and says, he is only signing two things, these two people, were not only husband and wife, but they lived so close, they could walk home. I was sooo disappointed. Well at this point it is like 3:30 in the morning, and this casino has an on-duty-all-day locksmith, apparently alot of people lock their keys in their cars, and the casino asks him to give me a ride to the hotel closest to the bus station, well I get to this hotel which is like two blocks from the bus station, and I decide that since I only have a few hours I'll just go wait it out at the bus station, so here I am sitting in a bus station with no autograph, sometimes that is the price you pay for being a fan.

-Marcie

Hi Marcie, thank you so much for your stories about David Lee Roth, especially the great picture you included from your trip to Albuquerque, great stuff. Also really glad that a huge fan like you got to meet him, good luck with any future encounters with Diamond Dave -Sterling and Earl

This is another story from Paul,

       Whoopi Goldberg
This one had been circled on my calendar for months. Whoopi was coming to Washington State University for Moms' Weekend, and the university is about 90 minutes south of me in rural Pullman, Washington. I drove down from Spokane and found a tour bus parked at the basketball arena where Whoopi would be performing. The arena was on a hill and there was a ramp going underneath the arena, but luckily the bus parked such that we could wait along the railing at the base of the hill (where the ramp met the street) and be right by the bus door.

Eventually one of Whoopi's personnel came off the bus and asked "Do you want her to sign anything?" Sweet! We handed over our items (I just had a photo, while the other collector had a couple posters and pictures) and she took them onto the bus. We could sort of see into the bus window, where Whoopi was seated signing our stuff. We got our stuff back signed "Whoopi". A few minutes later, Whoopi came out and we thanked her, to which she replied "You're welcome, gentlemen" and proceeded inside with her staff. Sweet success! I had heard Whoopi was good to her fans and she didn't disappoint.

       Better than Ezra/Rudolph Giuliani
Usually at the end of the spring semester in Spokane, I try to plan out a roadtrip back home to San Jose that involves minor league baseball autographs. However, the scheduling was pretty messed up and the teams in Portland, Tacoma, and Sacramento were all on the road, so I had to find alternate outings to fuel the autograph bug. Better Than Ezra, a band that I enjoy quite a bit, was performing at a small venue in Portland, and the next day Rudolph Giuliani was speaking at a business leadership conference in Stockton, CA. It would be quite a long haul for me to try and hit up those two events in one trip, but that became my goal!

I left Spokane in the morning and got to Portland well before the start of the Better Than Ezra show. This gave me time to scope out the venue (as well as some other concert venues in the city, for future reference). The place they were at, the Barracuda Nightclub, was a piece of cake for autographs. The tour buses were parked a block down from the place and across the street, and the front door was the only way in and out of the venue. The first out after sound check was Travis, the drummer, and I got him on my photo. He was really cool. A line had formed to get into the concert, and some fans left the line to get his autograph. The bass player, Tom, came out next and I got him as well. The last out was lead signer Kevin Griffin, who I got an autograph of and a picture with. They all had to walk back to the tour bus. This was sweet because I knocked off the entire band well before the concert even started, meaning I could drive south of Portland and cut down on my travel time the next day.

I left Portland and ended up staying overnight in Eugene. The next day I still had a good 8-9 hours of driving on my hands. I left Eugene around 8AM and made it into Stockton around 4PM. Yeah, I pushed it a little, especially through southern Oregon despite the many speed traps the Oregon cops set up to trap the crazy Californian drivers :-P As expected, security at the Fox Theater (a.k.a. the Bob Hope Theater) was tight. Behind the venue they had closed off one lane of the street with barricades where the limos would park. There were already two limos there, for the other two featured speakers (not Rudy).

The event started at 4PM, but Rudy's portion of the shindig wasn't to take place until the end, so he could arrive right before then. I waited around for a couple hours, and finally around 6PM Rudy's vehicle pulled up. There were three autographers total there, and as we approached the barricade about 15 feet away from the entrance, a security guard said "Rudy won't be signing anything for you." We've heard this line so many times. We called to Rudy and after greeting the police officers and some other people, he came over and signed away! I got him on a photo and then got a picture with him. This is a great score for me, since I admire Giuliani as a politician and think he has a good shot at running for President in '08. Overall, this was definitely a worthwhile two days. Despite tons of driving (the 18 hours or so that I had to drive anyway to get home), I managed to score some sweet autographs!

Always enjoy hearing from you Paul, keep the stories coming. Paul also has a cool in person site, click on his name to check it out! -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from James,

Years ago B. B. King played at an outdoor concert at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Since I was the first one at the concert, I got me a spot to view the concert up front and center stage. When the concert ended, I heard someone on stage say that the performers were heading to the Officer's Club on post for an after performance dinner. So I got in my car and beat everyone there. No one stopped me from entering the event and there were even folks who thought I was a musician. There were publicity photos of B. B. King on a table there and when I got a chance I presented the photo to B. B. King and asked if he could sign it using his real name. He looked at me kind of disgruntled and mentioned something about keeping his public and private life separate. I then mentioned how I appreciated his influence on other artists I followed like the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. So, sure enough he signed the back of the photo, "Riley King." That reminds me I actually got two autographs, the other one is John Lee Hooker.

Respect,

James

That is so cool that you got to meet B.B King, Earl tried with no success a couple years ago. We bet it really is a rare thing to have an autograph of his signed "Riley King"! Very cool, thanks for sending in the story and visiting the site -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Michelle,

, I'm Michelle. I'm so glad to have this opportunity to expose David Cone, formerly of the New York Mets, for the dirtbag that he is. It must have ben 1990 or 1991. My friend and I who were diehard Mets fans would often hang around the Shea Staduim parking lot area where we knew the players parked their cars. One day (it was an afternoon game in the middle of the week, therefore no big crowd formations), we see David Cone drive up and get out of his vehicle. My friend and I and a little boy of about 6 or 7 years old run up to him for autographs. We were the only three fans around! The parking lot was virtually empty. He was very curt with us and told us he didn't have time. Meanwhile, it was about three hours before the game and he certainly didn't seem to be in much of a hurry. When the little boy requested him to sign his baseball again, Cone yelled, "I said no!" I was completely nauseated by his reaction to this child. I mean how can you do something like that? This little kid who probably looks up to you and considers you his hero! The little boy looked like his heart was just broken. I mean what a sleaze. This guy ranks on the top of any list of nasty lowlife celebrities- let's face it all-around human beings. He is just a very ugly person.

The nicest celebrities I ever met were James Woods, Robert Downey Jr. and Judd Nelson. This was back in Chinatown in NYC circa 1988 during the filming of the movie "True Believer." Great guys!

My cousin who lives in Manhattan and has met her share of celebrites says the NICEST celebrity by far is Harrison Ford.

By the way, great site. Keep the stories coming!

Glad you enjoy the website! Man that is too bad that you had such a bad experience with David Cone, well at least (like you said) you can now expose him. At least it sounds like you had some good experiences with the other celebrities you mentioned. Thanks for stopping by our site and sending in the story! -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Allie,

what's up, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your website. I had the opportunity to see Sugarcult twice.

The first time I went, I was not really familiar with the band. My friend wanted me to go to the concert with her, and since I enjoy going to concerts, I decided to go and have a good time. And I had more than a good time. My friend's sister and I got really close to the stage and they came out when it was their turn to perform. I would also like to mention that Airin is my favorite Sugarcult member and is probably one of the sweetest celebrities I have ever encountered. Since this concert was my friend's birthday present, her sister wanted me to yell that it was my friend's birthday and ask if they could wish her a happy birthday. I did so, and Airin looked at me and was like, "What?" and I repeated what I said.

Most of the time, a musician would ignore what a fan was trying to say, but surprisingly Airin BENT down so that he could hear what my friend's sister had to say. And he did wish my friend a happy birthday! So did Tim. To make the night even better, Airin gave me his guitar pick sometime during the concert, and then at the end of the concert, he gave me his half-finished water bottle! I couldn't believe it! After the concert, the band came down to sign some autographs. I really wanted to stick around, but we had to head home. Later that night, I was looking at the guitar pick and I saw that Airin had autographed the back of it!!! So I didn't go home empty-handed! What a great night it was...

The second time I saw them, my friend and I decided to sit in the back because it was pretty crazy and hot up front, but we still had an awesome view. Again, they put on a fantastic show!! They are so talented! After their performance, they came down to sign autographs and this time, we got to stick around!!! I went up to Tim first for an autograph, and by the look on his face, I thought that he was going to turn me down. But then he asked me, "Do you have a pen?" I did happen to have a Sharpie. He signed my CD booklet, but then some other fans came up to him. I waited around a couple of times to get my Sharpie, but I never did get it back. Since I didn't want to seem like I was hovering around him, I left. Oh well, that's a little gift from me to him!! All in all, he wasn't really talkative to me or to the other fans; he was actually kind of a jerk. Kenny didn't look at me or talk to me when I said hi (I don't know if he heard me or if he was ignoring me), but he did sign my booklet and he wrote, "Stay Gold!" Even though Marko was kind of tired, he was such a sweetheart.

As he signed for me, I told him that I enjoyed the show, and he said, "Aw, thank you." After he finished signing for me, I asked him for a hug and he said, "Sure" and gave me one!!! That totally made my night! He also talked to my friend for a little while. But there was one more thing that needed to make my night perfect: an autograph from Airin and a chance to interact with him. I looked around the venue and I couldn't find him!! I looked everywhere, but then the stupid security guards started kicking out the people that were under 21. I was so disappointed because I really wanted to see Airin and give him a hug or something because as I mentioned earlier, he is my favorite Sugarcult member. Sadly, that was not the case. Hopefully, I'll get an autograph next time. Although I didn't get to meet Airin and I experienced a little rudeness, it was still an awesome night and it didn't really change my perspective of the band! They still are one of my favorites! If they come into my area again, I will go see them in a heartbeat and hopefully, I'll get to meet them again (especially Airin!) and they will be a little more talkative and respectful (Except for Marko- he was awesome, just as I expected!). Well, I hope you enjoyed my story...

Thanks for sending in your stories on Sugarcult. Too bad you didn't get to have such a great experience the second time around....you know...getting kicked out and all. At least you had the chance to meet with a few members. We're sure that you'll have another chance when they come back to town. Thanks for sending this in -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Heavenly,

Hi! My name's Heavenly and i've had a few celebrity encounters that i'd like you to put on your website if you want to.

The first celebrity encounter I had was with Damien the VJ from MTV. I met him at Seaside Heights New Jersey in the August of 2002. Me and a few other people were told by a woman that was with MTv that we would be let in to be in the audienece of the Total Request Live End of Summer Countdown. So after like a half hour of waiting Damien comes out so me and a few of the others asked him what was up are we gonna be let in or what and then he goes "Oh well we are trying to make room for you guys now." and we're like okay fine. But then a few seconds later this stcik thin blind in a small bathing suit walks by him and goes "Can I go in to the TRL thing?" and so Damien says "Of course you can." and he goes to take her in there but this just didn't sit right with me because me and those other nice people were waiting there all that time and she comes up out of nowhere and gets to go in.

So I was like,"Yo you." Damien turns around and goes "Are you talking to me?" and I was like "I sure enough am! me and these other nice people here were waiting all this time to get in and you said you were making room if you are making room then how does she get to go in!!! We were the one's waiting not her." And he just shurugged his shoulders and says lets' go to the girl and I said "Yeah you two assholes better go." And he turns around again and goes "I know your not talking to us." And I was like "Your the two assholes so I guess I am talking to you." He says "I don't appreciate you talking to me like that. I work with MTV. You don't talk to me like that." (the I work with MTV comment got many laughs from the people who were waiting with me)

So then I said is that suppossed to mean something that you work with MTV? I aint scared of real celebrities so what makes you think i'd be scared of wanna be celebrities like you?" Then Damien goes "I don't need this." and walks away. Then I said, "Have a nice time with your whore." This made her look back and i'm thinking yeah i'm really scared of a 6 foot tall bean pole. I mean if Damien came to me and told me he would let me into the show I would have asked if the other could go too because that would be ignorant of me to just go in and leave them hanging after talking to them all that time. But anyway I kept seeing Damien around that whole week I was in Seaside Heights. I seen him so much I seen him fall and almost bust his ass while playing Dance Dance Revolution. I bust out laughing and pointing he just gave me this evil look. Guess he isn't so tough without his MTV people around to back him up.

The next celebrity encounter I had was with my favorite band MxPx. I met them in my hometown of Philadelphia at a skatepark in February of 2004. They were so nice. Each of them talked to me for at least five minutes each. Tom talked to me for twenty, Yuri for ten, and Mike for five. When they walked in I was in shock and couldn't talk. The three of them just went over and started to set up the stuff. A few of them walked by me again but I still couldn't get up the nerve to speak to them. Tom must have noticed me being like this so he said hi to me and I was like OMG Hi! and he talked to me about school and stuff like that and he asked me was I going to the show tonight and i said no because I didn't think my mom would let me and beacuse I was in love with Randy Orton and I did'nt want to miss him on tv that night and I told him how much I loved Randy and he said you better be careful because he may not be as nice as we are all celebrites are not nice you know and I told Tom not to be silly because my Randy is wonderful (boy was I wrong I listen to what MxPx says any other time my dumb self) Then Yuri came over and i was like Hi Yuri! all hyper and whatnot and so he and Tom talked to me for like ten minutes then Yuri said he'd love to stay and chat with me but he had to go back over to help with the setup and stuff.

So then Tom stayed with me he kept telling me not to be nervous and not to cry because I was nervous and shaking and crying. He kept telling me don't do that because they are just normal everyday people (yeah right normal everyday people don't make the wonderful music that they do) Then while me and Tom was talking Mike came over and seen us talking so he talked to and shook my hand and gave me a hug and asked me why I was crying and I told him and he told me the same thing Tom did. After that Tom stayed with me some more. I finally stopped being nervous and teary lol Eventually Tom said he had to go because they were going to play their acoustic set soon and he was like I'll talk to you when the show's over and I was like okay. The I ran and got my seat up in the front. The show was great only thing was they forgot one of their songs and I was calling Mike's name trying to tell him how it went but he didnt' hear me. And I was the only one who knew the answers to the trivia they were saying to give out tickets to their show that night but dumbass me I was so in love with Randy Orton at the time that I did'nt wanna miss him on tv that night because it was a Monday.

Then after they were done playing they went to the table to sign autographs I was the first one in line again and Tom asked me so Miss Heavenly how did you like the show we're bad acoustic aren't we? And I was like no you guys are never bad well not often (because I do think some of the stuff they did was bad and embarrssing to MxPx fans everywhere lol) Mike and Yuri were asking me why i didnt answer the questions to get the tickets Mike was like I know you knew the answers and then Tom told them why because of my mom and Randy and they were like thats too bad because you probably would have really liked to be there and I said yeah I would have. Then they signed the stuff I had and I asked them to take a some pictuures with me so they took two and then I was like one last hug guys before we go so all three of them hugged me but I had a poster in my hand when and when I hugged Yuri I smacked him in the face with it by accident and I was like omg i'm sorry Yuri and he was like it's cool and then when I turned to leave Mike was like are you gonna be okay going home and i said yes because I didn't wanna lie to them but I should have said no because maybe they would have given me a ride or something lol

The next celebrity encounter I had was with Johnny Nitro from wrestling. This was on May 22, 2004 and I was outside the Wachovia Center looking for my baby Randy Orton and I knew from before that he was in a silver car and one drove by me with tinited windows up so I looked in closed to see if it was Randy. Then the window came down and Johnny Nitro stuck his head out and smiled at me and I was like Oh your not Randy Orton and he said and your not cute either (making me the laughing stock of everyone there) and I said whatever and he was like i'm hot and your not and I stuck my middle finger up at him and said fuck you and then he drove away.

The next encounter I had was with Randy Orton from wrestling and sorry to say he isn't very nice. I waited for him outside the Wachovia Center in Philly on May 22, 2004 and he was in a car with David Batista with David driving. There were other people there but they were under the impression that Randyw as driving so they all went over to the side of the driver window while my friend and I stayed on the side of the passenger window so it's not as if people were swarming his window or anything like that. Well, they were the last ones out and when they came out I put the stuff I had for Randy to sign in the window where he was sitting but I didn't put it in his face or anything rude like that, I just put it in enough for him to be able to see it and he was just sitting there.

He wasn't busy on anything because if he was I would not have disturbed him but as I said he was just sitting in the car doing absolutely nothing. And I was calm too, not annyoing and screaming because I know that that would have gottne on his nerves. Here are my exact words to Randy: "Randy would you please sign this stuff and maybe that a picture with me please?" And here are Randy's exact words to me: "Get this shit the fuck out of my face." and on top of that he pushed the stuff back at me so hard that I almost dropped it! I was heartbroken because believe this when I tell you I was Randy's biggest fan, no offense, but no one, not you, not anybody else, loved this man more than I did. I could understand if Randy was having a bad day but still you just do not curse at people whom you do not know, especially if they are your fans. I wish he wasn't this way because then I would not have to say that he is an asshole but he is.
I had minor experiences with other celebriteys too if you want to put these on your site.

I seen Dave Navarro driving a truck somewhere in New Jersey in the August of 2002. The car I was in rode by a parking lot exit and he was driving out as we were driving by. People tell em this probably wasn't him but I know Dave Navarro when I see him because I fucking love him he is so hot lol. I wish we weren't in cars. Then I could have talked to him.

I seen Victoria at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia on May 22, 2004. She was very nice she stopped and signed autographs and took pictures with everyone who asked. She was out there for like ten minutes talking to the fans.

I seen those three french wrestlers called la resistance on that day too. They seemed like they wanted to be nice but the fans bvooed them out of the parking lot saying get out of here you french bastards lol

I seen Eugene that day too. He didnt come out of his car or anything. The people that were there just yelled his name and cheered for him and he cheered back. He seemed nice.

I seen Chris Benoit that day. Believe it or not he almost ran some guy over for calling his name. He said excuse me Chris Benoit and then he speed out of the parking lot as soon as he said that. Not too nice if you ask me.

I've also seen Edge and he tried to drive away fast at first but some girl ran after his car and begged him to sign something for her and take a picture so he did and I was like awww how sweet of him.

I seen Triple H drive his own limo. lol He came out looking really pissed but hey i'd be too if I had to drive my own limo.

So there you have it. All the celebrities I met or seen. I hope you can use these on your website. And sorry for all the errors in spelling. I'm about to go to bed so i'm sleepy. Sorry.

Thank you for sending in all of these celebrity encounters, we enjoyed reading them. No problem regarding the errors, we have a fair amount of those ourselves. Thanks again -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Sarajane,

Well, I read on the georgewbush.com website that Senator John McCain would be kicking off the Get Out the Vote efforts at a place about two hours away from me. This was going to be on Monday (two days from when I was reading this). I called the headquarters for information, and they said, "We have information that he's coming tomorrow." so I decided to go down the next day and see if he was there, and if he wasn't I'd just stick around and help out with the campaign. Well, the next day, after two hours of riding public transportation, I got to the place.
I started talking to this lady from Virginia and she told me Senator McCain would be there that day!!

We all started doing phonebanking and all that fun stuff. People who didn't have phones "pretended to count" papers, lol, "Act busy! Make up a number when McCain gets here."

There was really good food there as well. Anyway, about a half an hour or so later DA DUN DA!! Senator McCain arrived. He was introduced by a Pennsylvania state senator who said, "When we go door-to-door, your name comes up alot, Senator McCain, as someone to be president after Bush." Then Senator McCain gave a great speech about why we needed to go to war on Iraq and why to reelect President Bush... My favorite lines were:

"There were some rumors about me being Vice President, but as I said on Jay Leno, I think it was, I was in a North Vietnamese prison where I was kept in the dark and fed scraps... Now why would I want to do THAT all over again?"

"Don't believe people like Michael Moore, who seem to believe that Iraq was an oasis of peace... And don't pay to see his movie, either. (cheering and applause) Yes, I got quite a reaction when I mentioned his name at the Republican National Convention."
and

"I invite you all to the inaugeral courtesy of the Bush administration."

Anyway, then he started to walk back, and I thought he was going to leave, but then he turned towards where all of the volunteers were. First I thought he was just talking to the press, but I walked up to him. He shook my hand and said, "Good to see you, darling." Then he saw my camera and he said, "Give your camera to someone and you can get a picture" so I did, I got a pic of me and JOHN MCCAIN! And then he signed my Bush lit flyer :) He got pictures with everyone there that wanted one. He is the NICEST man ever!

After Senator McCain left, the crowd of 200 or so dwindled down to about 20. lol Liars, they didn't come to volunteer ;) Then we set out to do a Get Out the Vote effort.
The downside is that the people at the photo place botched my photos so none of them came out :( I am still really annoyed about that, but at least I still have the autograph... And it's an experience that will definitely be in my memory forever! Thank you, Senator McCain! :)
Be seeing you!

This story is from Larry Coppala,

Hi Guys,
Back in 1963 while on active duty with the US Army in France. I found out Gene Kelly was at his Chateau in near by Chatelaillon. I was in LaRochelle in SW France. So off I go, never had an autograph in my life. I arrived, knocked on the door, which was answered by Gene's manservant. While he was telling me Gene would not be bothered to give me an autograph, Gene called out to him, what is it? What does he want? I spoke up and said; I'm in the US Army in France and would like your autograph for my Mom. Okay, he says and comes out the door. Holds out his hand for my pen and paper, of which I have none. Good grief he says, well come on in the kitchen, we will find something. So, I go into the kitchen, have coffee, and get his autograph on a paper table napkin. And another one on a postcard they had lying around. What a great guy Gene was, he had real class. He put up with this country bumpkin as smooth as silk. Also, if you will go to my personal web page, there is a photo of V.P. Humphrey, making an audio tape to me, while I was a Sergeant in Viet Nam. He was at Opa Locka airport near Miami, and my Mother, Wife and daughter met him there. It was a low profile visit and not many knew he was coming. The tape was played by all the Miami radio stations and the Armed Forces Radio/Television Network in Viet Nam. And the Miami Herald newspaper put the story on the front page. And of course, I still have the tape from the VP, as well as Gene's autographs.

My personal web page address is: http://home.att.net/~usaret.copp

Sincerely, Larry Coppala

Thanks for the story Larry! Gene Kelly is truly a legend and thanks for sharing that very cool story! Nice website, thanks for visiting ours!-Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Paul,

Weird Al Yankovic was in Spokane recently performing his zany, over the top musical numbers. I had my doubts about this outing, since it was at a midsize downtown concert venue that I hadn't had any luck at in previous outings. Nevertheless, I went down to the place about 15 minutes before the show was to end (couldn't make the show due to me being a cheapass/college student), and saw two large tour buses and an equipment truck parked on the street. This had to be the place; when the show ended, a bunch of people streamed out of the main lobby. Security had set up barricades about 8 feet away from the stage door, so it looked a little tough. The crowd of autograph seekers grew to about 40; luckily, I was in the front right behind the barricade, since I was there first! It was getting chilly outside and Al was still inside after about 30 minutes. There were some drunk teenagers blurting out awful renditions of Al's songs, much to the amusement and/or annoyance of many. Al's bandmates came out and signed for whoever asked; Reuben was especially cool. Someone wanted him to sign a rubber chicken, and Reuben put the sharpie near the chicken's nether-regions and pretended to sign, but said "nah, there are children here!" and signed it on the neck. I didn't really have anything for the other band members. Finally, about 20 minutes later, the Weird One himself came out and everyone cheered loudly. He immediately came over and signed one item each to accomodate everyone in the crowd. I got him to sign an 8x10 photo in silver sharpie! His autograph looks great (check out the Weird Al signature on this site, it is very similar to what I got tonight). Overall, this was a terrific outing, and Mr. Yankovic is definitely one of the greatest signers I've come across. Many entertainers would balk at signing for so many people, but Weird Al definitely appreciates his fans!

Thanks for sending in the story Paul. It's great to hear that Weird Al is still a great signer and you had such a great experience getting his autograph. Thanks again for stopping by the website and sending your own encounter as well! -Sterling and Earl

This is a story from Erelene,

I was in New York on August 5, 2004 a thursday. I was planning on meeting and perhaps getting an autograph from Jessica Simpson. She was going to be appearing at David Letterman Studios that day. I was at the hotel resting till about 2:30ish ,my hotel wasn't too far from his studios, maybe at the most a 8 minute walk. So my mother and I arrived about 2:40 or so in the afternoon, we heard from others who were already there including the paparazzi who have their own area on one side of the barricades just for them reserved lol they said jessica simpson and jada pinkett smith were already in the building. The hours went by slowly as more and more people by this time the crowds were so large that no one could walk by anymore, people even lined up accross the street from studios. The crowds were growing restless they began screaming and pushing . Everytime the doors opened of the studio people would turn their direction to see who was coming out, even if it was just staff from his show. They did tape a segment for the show outside some guy driving off in a mini motorcycle. We saw two jeep vehicles parked near baracades and I heard security quitely telling the police guy was there (lots of cops actually) that one vehicle the first one lined up was SMITH's and the one behind it was SIMPSON's. So then Jada finally came out and she made a b line to the car, not even letting the paparrazi take her pic, she was holding her head down walkin to the vehicle. She left, not signing for anyone either. So eventually Jessica's father came out he appeared to be nice, shaking hands and taken photos and said she ll be out soon, untrue as you will see. He left somewhere walking. I should have gotten his auto, u ll see why in a minute lol. Time seemed to be at a stand still. Next Jess's mom and friend (the one who was with her on newlyweds) came out with bags in hand and went to the car. I heard Jess's mom look around and say INSANE (she was reffering to the numerous people that were there).

Finally, Jess came out and she did not sign for anyone nor did she take pics with anyone. Only one side of barraced people wanted signature she could have stopped and at least sign a few but she didnt. She went in the car and soon it vanished. People were chashing her vehicle down the street, by foot and by car. I managed to speak to some guys who are proffesionals at getting signatures they followed her vehicle with theirs eventually they caught up with her and that point they were the only ones there and she would not sign for them and got nasty about alot of things. The guys told me she (JESS) was a dirt bag but they said they did not get ugly with her even though she acted like a stuck up person. I heard from a lota people she has let the fame gone to her head, she did not have other appearances that day yet she ignored everyone lol . All in all i dont know what to think but lately i have been hearing from a lota different people jess has become unfriendly and she only acts nice when nick is with her.

Well hope you at least enjoyed reading my story.....

Yes we did enjoy the story, but sorry you didn't get an autograph, thank you for sending it in! Sorry to hear that Jessica is still acting that way, maybe one day she'll miss people admiring her work and asking for autographs -Sterling and Earl
