Jennifer Tilly has appeared in over 50 films, making her one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood. For years, Jennifer Tilly has particularly been known for her unique voice and her physical assets, but has since proven her acting chops with films like Woody Allen's "Bullets Over Broadway" in which she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
Jennifer Tilly has also been known to be very grateful to her fans and was even named #1 best signer by Autograph Collector magazine. Up until this point we were only able to read about Tilly's amazing generosity to her fans, but we were about to get our chance as well. She was hosting a very lavish art benefit, so we were off to see if Jennifer Tilly was indeed a great signer.
When we first arrived to the event we had no idea what our next move should be. The event cost some really big bucks so we weren't able to attend, but were hoping to catch her before she went into the show. Since this event wasn't publicized very well we were starting to wonder if Jennifer Tilly was indeed going to be there. It just didn't seem that a Hollywood actress like Jennifer Tilly would come to our town, but all doubts were soon pushed aside when we spotted her walking into the entrance of the room.
She turned the corner we were waiting by and both of us were simply star struck and couldn't move a muscle. She walked right by us and then headed right into the event, there went that opportunity. We are truly some of the shyest autograph collectors you will ever come across. Hopefully that wasn't our only chance of the night.
Both of us saw her inside the event, but could do nothing but kick ourselves in the butt for not asking her when we had the chance. It was about an hour or so later when we spotted her again. Both of us were sitting close to the restroom and that was exactly what she was heading towards! Obviously this wasn't a good time to ask for an autograph, because when you gotta go... you gotta go. She walked right passed us and entered the restroom. Now what should we do? We knew that she was supposed to be a great signer so we vowed to ask her for an autograph when she returned.
Earl went to get a drink of water and as he did Jennifer walked out of the restroom. It was now up to Sterling to ask the big question, no not for her hand in marriage but for an autograph. Earl heard Sterling ask the question and was shocked to see Jennifer Tilly standing right in front of us. Jennifer smiled big and said she would be happy to. "Oh, you guys have pictures", Jennifer said when we handed over the photos we had of her.
Both of us were still so nervous and shy, but she was just so sweet and really made us feel comfortable. It also didn't help matters that we picked such a risqué photo to get signed, but she didn't mind at all. Before she put the sharpie down on the picture she asked us if we wanted the picture personalized or not. Since we don't sell autographs, of course we told her we wanted them personalized and so she signed away. After signing, Jennifer was also more than happy to take a picture with each of us and even asked if we wanted to take a picture again because the flash didn't go off. She consistently proved that she truly is a caring celebrity! Both of us thanked her for everything and she continued on her way.
Before she got into the door, she was stopped again for an autograph request. A couple had been staking out the lobby as well and got her to sign their photographs. The only weird and rude part was that they didn't even get up out of their seats when she agreed to sign. So Jennifer Tilly had to bend all the way over to sign the pictures on the woman's lap, very strange. Jennifer is such a sweet heart and really proved it to us on this night.
